Just wanted to see who all from here is going to be competing.
It seems that it's reached maximum registration already.
I competed in the Nationals last year in Vegas and it was a pretty small
event. I remember walking inside and there was only 3 or 4 mats and it was just
*Crickets* with a few people going at it on the mats. Very sureal...

Anyways, even if you're just doing 1 event let it be known here. :icon_twis

I would love to do it. Money and mat rust is a bit of an issue right now though. Maybe next year.

Did you do both gi/no gi?

Did you do both gi/no gi?

Last year was No-Gi only.
In 2008 it was cool cause they had the Nationals with the Gi on Sat.
Then the No-Gi part on Sunday. However last year they split it up where they
wern't even in the same month and the No-Gi part was in Vegas. I think that's
why it wasn't very big. So this year they are doing the same thing with the Nationals
Gi being in Sept. and the No-Gi in Aug.
It's just they threw in this Las Vegas Open thing on the same day.

I hope i'm not biting off more than I can chew doing both Gi & No-Gi
and Openweight in both all in the same day.

3 days before the Tournament and they still don't even have the schedule up yet :icon_conf

2 days before the tournaments and still no schedule!!!!! :icon_evil

These guys fuckin laaaggggg as always.

I'm here in Vegas now. I'm ready to go. I just need to hit up a few buffets and some pool parties...

For real though. There is so much smoke and so many drunk people. It's hard to believe I will be competing in two days. Saturday night and Sunday will be party time.

WE have like 9 guys competing. I came early to make sure Vegas is safe for the team...

btw...schedule is up

Congrats to my teammates Alex Leavitt (White/Leve) & Dom Hoskins for both taking Silver @ the Las Vegas Open (Blue/Medio). Dom won his first match against the guy who took 3rd @ pan ams this year. This dude's a beast!!!!

I see Rodrigo Teixeira took gold in middle weight adult black belt division....nice

I won a few matches and got third in my weightclass with the gi.
In the Openweight I got laid on but not finished but some 260lbs guy.
Then in the No-Gi part I got jacked on points by the ref and lost my first match,
but I came back in teh openweight and tapped out a middleweight guy and then
the highlight was tapping out an ultra heavyweight to get bronze.

The bad parts, in the semis of the openweight no-gi, I was caught in a kimura type armlock and had my other arm trapped, the guy I was fighting out weighted me by like 40lbs and was cranking on my arm. I couldn't tap and when I tried to yell TAP I couldn't because my mouth piece was slipping so all I could do was yell and make noise. My arm is a little jacked but not as bad as it would be if it went 1 sec more.
Then I got bit by a brown reculse (sp) spider and haven't ate since Sunday, lost 5lbs have 103 fever and shivers and sweats. Also I have a swelling on my leg the size of a bean bag that im sure will have to be "lanced" according to my doctor. And half my leg is red and tender.

But other than the 2nd paragraph it was good times :D
