Capitalism, capitalism and again capitalism. Everything build around money, money and money.

Trump declares trade war on Europe for barring US farmers GMO food to be sold in Europe.

Well, in America it all makes sense. Farmers producing GMO cuz its cheaper and they get more money from 'bigger and healthier produce'. So Americans are consuming GMO, developing cancers and other crap and then spending $$$ for medical treatments. Everyone along the way making money, farmers and doctors.

Europe is far from capitalism and human life is seen to have more value over money being made. Personally I rather consume less crap and live somewhat long and happy life unlike most muricans entering elderly stage of their lives and spending most of their time in hospitals rather than with grand kids.

Personally I dont see an issue for GMO produce to be sold in Europe as long as package is clearly marked with some sort of recognisable logo that food was genetically modified. This way will give consumer a choice and if people want to consume such produce then it's entirely up to them.

I don't think you know what capitalism means.

capitalism - an economic and political system in which a country's trade and industry are controlled by private owners for profit, rather than by the state.

About half this country let it be known not even money matters to them, just a vague sense of someone else's victory that ultimately amounts to nothing at all.

If Obama had a regulation making sure actual pieces of human shit weren't allowed in our drinking water, they would've cheered Trump repealing it.

Consumerism is by no means the exclusive province of the US. People who have a ton of money buy a ton of shit everywhere. Europe is far from capitalism? That's absurd. And LOL at being scared of GMOs, that's plain dumb hysteria. Farmers and agricultural scientists have been genetically engineering the foods we eat for centuries through breeding programs that result in large and generally uncontrolled exchanges of genetic material. There is absolutely no compelling evidence that modern GMOs are harmful, there's damn sure no evidence linking it to cancer. Pure poppycock I say, poppycock. Also there's plenty of fat Americans but there's plenty of fit Americans, we aren't all sick fatasses you silly person.

Or did I just get trolled?

GMO's have a very broad meaning.

The part Europe should be concerned with is herbacides and neocontinoids.

Fortunately for Europe you already have court rulings against herbacides, specifically round up.

If Bayer buys Monsanto though, doesn't that flip this whole conversation on it's head?

Humans don't need money, but unfortunately worshipping money and living for it was deemed the easiest transition from worshipping God and living for Him.

Lol. When has capitalism worked without a huge state supporting it?

Of course capitalism requires a state to support it. It's not an anarchic system. In a capitalist system, the state provides needed regulation of markets and industries, but the state does not directly own or control the means of production.

When has socialism ever worked?

How about this. Try naming the best countries that are not capitalist. LOL. If you find the balls to do so, I have a premonition of me telling you that having socialized medicine =/= country is not capitalist.

That's not the way the actual relationship between the state and capitalism works. Do you live in the United States? I am talking about the working of actual American capitalism (neoliberalism) in todays America - not some theoretical world.

Whats clear is the direct opposite of what you're arguing: Americans live under the authority of an increasingly technocratic state that is deeply imbricated with capitalism. Fact of the matter is, neoliberalism would not exist without colossal government control of capital - especially its life and death (as can be seen in the way that the government always saves banking institutions). Furthermore, it's not just about bailouts or quantitative easing...it's about the mass discipline imposed on people by public institutions that normalize capitalism. The state, in all of its forms, is the primary controller of the fate of capitalism since the state itself represents capitalism.

LOL why are you bringing up socialism when I asked you a question about capitalism? If you didn't know the answer to my question you should've just stated it instead of hiding behind a negative narrative of an alternative to capitalism

Because capitalism and socialism are both political/economic systems that are at opposite poles.

You asked "When has capitalism worked without a huge state supporting it?"
To which I asked you "When has socialism ever worked?" Meaning even with a large state socialism does not work.

What is a "huge" state??? Is Denmark a "huge" state?

Again, I'm talking about American neoliberalism. It's Do you know what that means? Should I lecture you about the Hayekian flavor or should I critique Friedmans more radical position? I see you skirting the issue about government control of capital by trying to talk about socialism. I get it, you don't know what i'm talking about so you're trying to define it by what you think its opposite is.
