If a candidate for the highest office in our country was sending up so many red flags that the FBI deemed it necessary to infiltrate the campaign there is only one person to blame.

I don’t know enough about the first case to make that call. From what I read he denied it and it didn’t go anywhere. There is a big difference on spying and being an informant in an ongoing investigation.

So, he was spying the first time (the nyt literally referred to him as a “special agent”), but this time he was just “an informant”?

Coupled with the 48 hour narrative shift to, “they were actually protecting trump” that means that none of the suspicions about Russia were based on anything related to trump.

The article you linked in the other thread from 1983 says an ex aide made the allegation which Halper denied.

The article also said the FBI and House started investigations. I can't find formation about those investigations.

When I looked up that scandal he's barely even mentioned.

Notes by Mr. Jones on the documents described their source as a ''reliable mole.''


Mr. Halper, the former campaign aide said to have headed the information-gathering operation, nominally worked for Robert Garrick, the director of campaign operations. Mr. Garrick said in a telephone interview recently that Mr. Halper was ''supposed to help with communications, but I kind of thought he had another agenda going -he was always on the phone with the door closed, and he never called me in and discussed it with me.''

Speaking of Mr. Halper, David Prosperi, a Reagan campaign aide, now with the Superior Oil Company, said, ''He provided us with wire stories and Carter speeches, but people talked about his having a network that was keeping track of things inside the Government, mostly in relation to the October surprise.''


A source from the Reagan campaign who asked not to be named said, ''There was some C.I.A. stuff coming from Halper, and some agency guys were hired.'

I don't pay as much attention to "leftist media" as you do, the only narrative that matters in Muellers. Now if Trump was unaware his campaign was full of criminals would that not make him unfit to be President?

That's a pretty hefty to charge. The guy was never convicted of a crime and as far as I can tell was never even charged.

We know the FBI and the House launched investigations and as far as can tell nothing ever came of those investigations.

It also seems these allegations were politically motivated to try and force James Baker out of the administration.

So yeah I'm going to need a little more evidence (like any evidence at all) that this guy "spied" in the Carter administration.
