Yeah you could be right with any of those theories. I wouldn’t be surprised at all though if the fighters see the gloves for the first time when they unveil them on Friday, and get them at weigh ins or on fight day. I think it’d be hard to get 26 fighters plus their teams to keep the pictures private all week.

Someone said this earlier, but what if they're having ONLY the title fights use it if they're new gloves?

As a test run at the highest level type thing. As Weili on the embedded episode was using different gloves than usual during training(though it could just be personal training gloves).
 
Gloves have to be sanctioned.

UFC couldn't just randomly have differently gloves if they wanted.

I assumed this is about a new prototype they're going to suggest, or just 'new' gloves they're selling to the public.

I don't see a world in where the commissions have tested and approved a new glove, without anybody knowing.

It could just be her training gloves, but there's a chance that only the title fights may be using it as another user here said.

Maybe they've sent only the champions the new gloves as Max said there's a "surprise" at the press conference a few days ago as well.

If it's fully a new design, I really hope all the fighters on the card got fronted pairs to train with beforehand, but almost 90% guarantee they haven't
 
Are they revealing new gloves after the whole Chris Weidman incident?
 
Dont be surprised if the whole new thing is just some special color design and 300 logo on them...seriously.

I feel like if they were updating the gloves for eye poke safety, then they should've had the fighters training in the new gloves the whole time so they don't have to adapt to them on fight day

So the fact that fighters haven't reported trying out the safer gloves makes me think it's either a false report or just a visual change rather than a functional one
 
It wouldnt be that surprising if they made full sanctioned change to glove design. Like even if they did -who was gonna report it beforehand. Mma media? Lol.
