News Update from Jiri - "UFC staff tried to scare us off little bit"

Jiri literally said that he will be ready for action in summer (year after last fight), September if he go for full camp. (year and 3 months after last fight). 0 mentions about late summer or fall...

If you are unaware, fall here is September.

It would be completely unacceptable to not fight for over a year and sit on the belt. Being healthy enough to fight is the absolute minimum requirement of being champion.

He was pushed to relinquish belt after 6 months of being champion without 100% knowledge on injury. Its not fair and its pretty dirty by UFC, say whatever u want to...

Also Jiri himself said that he will be ready in summer (june) which is year from last fight - September (if) he have enough time for camp...

If he was still champ and fighting an interim champ he would get paid on PPV points. Without the belt he almost certainly won't. Francis is right.

Jiri better have gotten it in writing the he gets champ pay and ppv points for his immediate title shot on return

He better not have just beloved a Dana “promise”

Dana going overboard and exaggerating shit or flat out lying is annoying, and really bad when he's saying such and such is ducking but I swear I saw quotes/comments where he was like this is possibly career-ending, all extra serious.

Now he's "overhyping" injuries. Gross.

That is what happens when you're a nice person, the vulchers at UFC will pick you apart

Hope he can make a fast recovery, what incredibly bad luck to get an injury like this when he has just won the belt and is in his absolute prime.

Thats fucked how one of the most respectful and respected fighters is the one the ufc convinces to give up the title.

Thats just so fucked man.

I don’t think the title means that much to him. He’s an axe murderer for real I love This guy he’s the best.

But their logic is weird Bc what the fuck are they even doing with the heavyweofjr division anymore? They have 3 guys everyone wants to see and then a bunch of rosentrunks and blades and derick Lewis and a few tall Russians and then aspinwall and gane who are ok I guess

Little bit from Czech interview with Jiri after landing in Prague.-
"UFC tried to scare us off little bit, just because of belt, to leave it to others. I think that its reason why they told me that it will take around 9-12 months for me to get back into full training. But in reality it shouldnt take more then 6 months, atleast thats what we were told in latest consultations with more specialists and surgeons"
Officialy Jiri voluntarily relinquished his title, but it was not so "idyllic"-
"I dont want to comment on that at all, but it was their idea (UFC). We had consultation with them and we came to this decision. Like its not such a problem for me personally when they promised me that my next fight is going to be for title. As Dana White said, show must go on. - Let the best one show up when i cant right now..."

When we can expect u to get ur title back?
"in summer- September at the latest, depends on length of preparation camp."

Jiri about pause and rehabilitation -
"Its not pause for me because i have planned rehabilitations and other activities for every day. Firstly iam not person which could just relax and secondly iam trying to use every second of time i have to do something productive, mainly now when iam in my prime. I simply want to use my time to fullest . To learn, to absorb, to get better, to try new training techniques, use this time to get on another level."

Jiri was ready to fight only with one hand -
"It was toughest decision for me. I was considering it a lot, a lot... Even now i was still thinking of jumping into fight somehow. It simply makes me mad. I believe in victory under any circumstances. I fought many fights with injuries, sickness or without strength. All kinds of difficulties and we everytime managed to win somehow. But i dont regret my decision. I gave my word and i believe that its best thing i could have done in this particular situation."

"As i said manytimes before, as soon as i get into full training... Not just full training! Even in terms of recovery, for me preparation for next fight starts by this day.- Before fight is after fight, and after fight is before fight.- I take my life as a training. Thats why i still can be happy and dont hang my head in bad situations. Because once one adopts this winning attitude, no amount of loss or hardship can change that. This attitude is life itself which is going forward.- I am the change. I'll do my best. And I will do so day after day to take what is mine."

Many People mention situation around Ngannou which is in similiar situation but stays champion. -
"I actually talked about current situation with Francis when we were in same locker room. He advised me to dont take any advices from UFC and to dont vacate title. - I told him that it does not matter, but he told me back that it does matter and that i should care more about it...- But its simple for me. Iam unable to give fans 200% performance right now. So i let other do so. Nothing will change at all. I know who iam and where iam going. I know as fact that i will come in +- 6 months and take whats mine.

Thoughts on Jan vs Ankalaev -
"I feel bad for Glover, UFC treated him unfairly, "business"... I recorded voice message for him that iam sorry. He was preparing for a fight and now is without any, they didn't make any kind move towards him, this pisses me off."
Do you have any favourite on Saturday?
"May the better win, i dont have any favourite. I care about myself right now, to get in best form soon as possible, to improve everywhere."

Great cliffs, thank you!

Sorry I don't believe jiri.

The UFC wants champions like him.

They don't want champions like Jan or the Russian.

The whole tested 51 times in a year, the silly answer jiri gave explaining that, him getting injured and belt removed
................

Listen all I am saying is I don't believe what he has to say.

“That night when it all went down and we had our doctor look at him, the doctor literally said in all the years of the UFC, this is the worst shoulder injury we’ve ever seen,” White said. “It’s pretty nasty. Him being the f****** savage that he is, he still wanted to fight. No, you can’t fight, kid. He tore it good.

“What happened was it popped out and he had some guys there at the gym [try to put it back in socket] and it f****** ripped the s*** out of it and destroyed his shoulder. I’ll tell you, tell him, tell all the fighters, if anything happens to you, jump in a f****** car and go to the hospital. We will pay for everything. People think that these guys at the gym can fix your shoulder, do this s***, do that s***, don’t even risk it. Just go to the hospital. It’s crazy.”

Also

With Prochazka out of action, White added that former champion Glover Teixeira is already cemented as the No. 1 contender in the division and all signs point towards him getting either Blachowicz or Ankalaev next after UFC 282.

“100 percent [Glover is next],” White said. “The fight was offered to Glover. He didn’t want to take the fight. It will probably be two fights before Jiri comes back so it would be Glover.”

Interesting to see how many "Teams" are wrecking shoulders lately...

Interesting read...Hopefully it was not same UFC doctor which trusted to Martinek that hole in his leg is not from staph infection but "just" burn from chopper exhaust.(meanwhile having fever...:D)

Also even team of Jiri described it as pretty nasty and brutal looking injury, but luckily its not that bad how it looked...

This is moronic. Jiri himself is saying the absolute earliest he will be ready is one full year between fights.

Of course you cannot sit on the belt while others fight on your behalf for an entire year. This is common sense and should not need to be typed out, you are just saying nonsense for the sake of it.

Jiri did the right thing and the UFC are right to offer him that, instead of stripping him.

UFC screwing a true fighter? Nothing new

Jiri may have to kiss his immediate title shot goodbye after throwing the UFC and their “doctors” under the bus like that. Yes the UFC is that petty.

Honestly only the ufc would know the answer to that, they are thinking 2-3 moves ahead and probably have way more to gain from another scenario than Jiri holding the title. Ufc hasnt hosted an event in Czechia yet so they don't have an installed fanbase to gauge attendance. I think they have an event planned there in Feb but like I said, if more money is to be made elsewhere with different fighters, then it'll mean more profit for the greedy ufc.
Dude. Prague is pretty close to Germany, Poland, Austria, Slovakia. UFC fans from all theese countries would come.
Czech based MMA promotion Oktagon easily sold O2 arena in Prague with Vegh-Vemola and other local fighters. Oktagon is pushing MMA for years in Czech and Slovakia. They even had a own show similar to Tuf for several years.
If UFC comes to Prague it will be sold out under one hour.
