UPDATE: Fedor legendary 9 wins -1 lost - 1 NC record against former UFC champions.

It's ridiculous how in 2018 there are still daily "OMG Fedor is so great" threads

we get it, he was good (but NOT unbeatable).

I don't see the point in making fedor threads unless he is fighting someone in the here and now
LITERALLY GOD

History is important.

These threads get a lot of interest.
Even from you, obviously.

The UFC HW champions during Fedor's reign of 2003-2010 were:
  • Tim Sylvia (Fedor defeated him)
  • Frank Mir (Fedor defeated him)
  • Andrei Arlvoski (Fedor defeated him)
  • Randy Couture
  • Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (Fedor defeated him)
  • Brock Lesnar
At bare minimum you have to acknowledge that Fedor is 4-0 versus his contemporaries.

The only relevant win over a former champion would be Arlovski and maybe Coleman.

Like listing Mir in his current state has no relevancy to where he was in his prime. Imagine someone fought Tim Sylvia today and won, they could say they beat a former HW champion, it is completely irrelevant...

The more important statistic would be how high ranked a person was when they fought.

Gotta make sure all these new fans understand the importance of the hw goat

If Stipe beat Sylvia today, it wouldn't matter at all. They aren't from the same era.
If Sylvia defeated Cro Cop today, it would matter more because they're from the same era.

Not sure why Mir being a loudmouth is relevant. Facts I provided actually matter in this argument.

2-7 in last 9 and 2 year layoff >>> 10 month layoff

Loved when Mir was knocked the fuck out by natural LHW wrassler based Bader…same Bader who had to tap to GOAT Jones or go night night

Your acting like fedor isnt 40+ years old lmao and he soundly finished dumb fuck Mir it was incredibly gratifying especially since alot of ppl here thought Mir would win.

Btw Mir never fought Bader.....such a mental giant this guy is heh?

Fedor's MMA record in sanctioned, commissioned, and drug tested fights is only 6-5. That's not even top 15 GOAT status.

Fedor was the favorite against Mir buddy…

Fedor was KOd by natural based Wrassler who goat jones made tap…these are FACTS

He didn’t face almost every top hw from his time..... he wasn’t unbeatable. He was unbeaten - it’s enough. He was beatable. Just like everyone ever. Just like he was against werdum.

Blah blah blah. Millennial pussy commentary.

Former champions with extra emphasis on “former”, those guys lost their belts for a reason. They were either old or had the game pass them by; most guys were only good in one disipline like Mir and Nog being BJJ only, Coleman just a wrestler and Silvia was just a fat giant.

I love fedor, he was the best in 2005 but he simply isn’t on the same level as modern, elite UFC fighters and he never was. He shares his best two wins with Roy Nelson, let that sink in.

There is a big difference between beating former champions and current champions.

Sorry to burst your bubble guys but all the "former" UFC champs hes beaten aside from Mir were top ten if not top 5 ranked at the time of their defeat at the hands of the last emporor......they are all credible solid wins.
