There is the original one in my post below where a family of 6 (inlcluding 9 and 12 year old girls) commited three coordinated suicide bombings on Christian churches

Then there was a family of 5 on two motorbikes that attacked a police station. Miraculously, the 8 year old daughter survived

Then was a premature discharge killing a mother and 17 year old daughter in a home. Police showed up and shot the father. A 12 year old son and two younger sisters are being treated at a hospitol

There are ties with all three families to either returning from Syria, or close companions who have. Is there something especially fucked up with the extrmeists' teachings in Indonesia or what?

Saw a headline of a family of suicide bombers attacked three churches in Indonesia and killed 11 or more. I clicked on the link expecting to see husband and wife and maybe some brothers and cousins. Didn't expect this and it hit hard in the feels. I know these people are monsters but fuck, strapping a bomb to your 9 year old daughter and telling her to go into a place and blow herself up and you feel proud about it?

Sunday's explosions targeted the Santa Maria Catholic Church, the Indonesian Christian Church and the Pentecost Central Church.

The family's father exploded a car bomb, while the mother was with their two daughters aged nine and 12 and two sons aged 18 and 16 used a motorbike in an attack on another church, police said.

Police spokesman Frans Barung Mangera said: "The husband drove the car, an Avanza, that contained explosives and rammed it into the gate in front of that church."

He said the wife and two daughters were involved in an attack on a second church and at the third church "two other children rode the motorbike and had the bomb across their laps".

It's probably just my ignorant American speaking, but I didn't realize Indonesia was the largest country of Muslims. Would have thought for sure that was Saudi Arabia, or maybe Iran. This is looking to be an ISIS branch that is trying to get a foothold there. Is the Indonesian government perhaps not as full on Theorcracy as other Muslim nations are? It says 10% of their population is Christian, and that it very much angering the extremist ones.

Until pretty recently I would have felt pretty safe visiting Turkey, Iran, UAE, and a few others. It's the poor ones you have to watch out for, religious zealotry gets pretty tempting when you're poor as fuck.
