Upcoming Movies in 2016

Independence day sequel. What.the.fuck. also fuck the ben-hurt remake.

2015 was predicted to be a bigger year until a few of the movies like Batman vs. Superman got pushed back a year.

Ya know, i always look at movies coming out every year, write down the release dates of movies i want to see.

This year i felt the movies were below par. Sure there might have been some huge box office killers but overall it seemed weak to me.

July is a great month though.

Hoping for a good 2016

yall can keep the comic book movies

i need more Coen movies

Now that JW is a box office juggernaut, I don't think 2016 will have higher grossers. 2015 is shaping up to have 3, maybe 4 billion dollar movies and most likely two 500 million plus domestic movies.

I need Warcraft in my life.

Gambit is the one movie that peaks my interest, Channing Tatum better not fuck it up.

Who am I kidding? Of course he will

Great thread! Thanks for all the hard work, Dragon! This year has been huge box office wise thanks to Furious, Avengers, Jurassic World...hard to believe 2016 could be even bigger.

hell yesss to Assassin's Creed!!

I forget, will it be based on Ezio Auditore???

Pretty funny that we are going have 4 "Blockbuster" type Video Game movies next year. Assassin's Creed, Warcraft, Ratchet and Clank and Angry Birds.

i can't believe they're remaking ben hur, its a god damn classic already, and how do you improve on it?

Sorry for the delay but here it is. It took me a while to get started on the thread.

Great thread! Absolutely can not wait for most of these films. Honestly, 2016 looks like it may be even better than 2015.

Yikes . . . Out of all of those, about 3 or 4 interest me. We need more horrors, noir mystery/thrillers, and goofy comedies. At least there's Zoolander 2!

Thanks Dragonlord for the effort nonetheless!
There are a few 2016 comedies and horror films I omitted since some of them didn't have a recognizable brand for the purpose of this thread (which is to point out that 2016 could be a monstrous year).

Thanks for the effort Dragonlord.

I'm very pumped about Now You See Me: The Second Act. I really like the first one because it kind of a new storyline compared to the hundreds of movies which have similar plots.
Was looking forward to the first Now You See Me but ended up being disappointed. The execution wasn't that good for me and the four characters didn't have great chemistry and their interaction dialogue felt forced.

Superhero movies coming out the fucking yazoo. I don't mind the genre but they are going to kill it in very short order with this over saturation.
It's going to be crazier in the coming years with Marvel Studios releasing 3 movies a year and Warner Bros. and Fox releasing 2 movies a year. Sony also has Spider-Man and the potential spinoff movies.

Batman v Superman and Civil War are possible billion dollar grossers.

I added a poll. 2015 or 2016?

Michael Fassbender will be playing Desmond Miles.

Yeah, reminds me of this year where we have numerous Western films coming out where in the past few years there were hardly any ever.

Yeah, will probably be not good. Did you know that the 1959 Ben-Hur film was also a remake of the 1925 film.

Agreed.

Will see Star Trek and X-Men based on the strength of the previous entries. Will definitely watch the Shane Black and Coen Bros movies; will probably watch the movie Affleck directs and the Ang Lee movie. Will probably see Zoolander. Would like Tarzan to be good: will see it if reviews are good.

Based on MOS and Winter Soldier, I probably won't see Dawn of Justice or Civil War unless it's in the cheap theatre and the reviews are great. I love comic books, but unless all those releases get incredible reviews I probably won't waste my time on them.

I went into the film with zero expectation nor knew what genre it was even. That is probably why I walked out a happy man, this is usually the case for most movie goers I believe. No hype = more satisfied.

I found the theme really refreshing as mentioned, it was basically a Magic show film which I can't think of any predecessor that I watched. I also like films that make us think alot throughout, which "Now you see me" did. So these combinations basically sums up why I rate the film so high. I would be happy if this sequel was on par, but with higher expectation this time, I presume it would be a 6/10 or 7/10 now. ^^

Only similar movie I can think of, Magic show related, is The Prestige which Hugh Jackman and Bale was in. That was a fantastic show for me as well.

Wow looks like i'm going to need to create a 2016 movie budget.

NEW
The Money Movie - It's a new movie probably going to be released by the end of the year where viewers have the chance to win a prize by solving the mystery in the movie. Website: www.themoneymovie2016.com

Rogue One looks really interesting. It looks like it's going to be kind of like Saving Private Ryan meets Star Wars. And interested in seeing a SW movie where the Skywalkers aren't the focus just for a shakeup.
