That and the fact that I expected something more interesting than whites and blacks in the crowd.

I've actually been to China. Guangzhou, Jong Kong and Beijing. In Beijing we only saw like 1 or 2 non-asians even in heavy tourist areas. People took pictures of us randomly. In Hong Kong it was very mixed but only saw a few black people that looked African not really wearing the latest Western type attire.

Guangzhou we saw everything but that was only in the trade show. Everywhere else was Asian only.

Shenzhen is close to Hong Kong so I'm sure they get spill over despite being mainland
