PFL Unpopular Opinion; all the PFL cards this year have been great

Honestly cant remember anything that happened in PFL except Hughes/Usman. I didnt watch basically any of the regional cards they did.

Moving away from the season and stuff was smart, they've made some good signings and just making the right fights is all you can ask.

This upcoming year is big for them to see whether ESPN keeps them or not so they need next year to be big. Not sure

The change in format is a good move but they really need to do more to distance themselves from the Donn Davis era. PFL Africa, Europe, or whatever are fine if you put fights people care about on them.

Also, I hate to say this but they need to do what Karate Combat and BKFC are doing: sign older fighters to build off of. Noticed PFL doesn't really do that anymore. I don't really care if Aleksandr Chisov won a title by KOing some other unknown from the same region.

Also, just let Ngannou's contract run out. He's more trouble than he's worth.

PFL is such a frustrating promotion to follow nowadays. They're on ESPN but ESPN+ only shows certain cards, and now you can't even watch most of them with an ESPN+ subscription, you need to upgrade to the way more expensive "ESPN Unlimited" plan. So now the only fights you can watch free are the crap cards on their app, or tape-delayed on Vice TV. I can't even remember the last time ESPN aired a PFL card on their TV channels. It's like they don't want us to watch it.

Also, before they launched the app, you couldn't even watch the MENA cards on DAZN because of the region blocking.

PFL has had some entertaining shows this year and usually is a good watch many more times than not.

Problem is the UFC gives us so much MMA content many fans of the sport don't need anymore. So the other orgs need to have events that people actually want to tune into. The PFL has a solid roster(though weaken some through the last year or so) but it just doesn't get utilized very well. Just way too many events that even hardcore fans look at the event and don't recognize a name hardly on it. I don't know what it is with these B tier orgs like PFL and many of the ones that have come before them like Strikeforce and Bellator. They can't seem to take step back and really analyze their roster top to bottom from a drawing stand point. Then with this data utilize it to lay out an event plan for the year and how many events they can realistically put on. Instead way too many events just seem like an event to have an event and no one cares in the end.

The pacing, the fights, the finishes, the commentary, I've enjoyed almost all the cards this year. I especially like their signings, I think PFL is trending towards a positive direction.
I have to disagree. Its mostly been amateurish. I feel like to have this opinion you have to view a PFL event from an anti-UFC perspective.

I was there as media for several of the tapings at Universal and I will say it was a fantastic experience. Not sure how the fights were on the broadcast, but they were great live. I also enjoyed the cards from the middle east and Europe that I saw.

Despite all of the fighters that moved on, PFL still has very good fighters on the roster and they have made some quality signings in fighters like Rahmani and Baydulaev. Let's hope they can keep them active.

I think they really took strides this year. Their roster includes more high level fighters than ever, and the only gripe I have, as far as the cards themselves are concerned, is the pacing still needs to be touched up a bit. Parting ways with Davis was the best thing that could have happened, excited to see where they go from here.

They really need to get off ESPN+ Unlimited Mega Ultra Supreme Whatever, and somewhere people can watch without paying out the ass and jumping through retarded hoops

Also... ADVERTISE!!!! Actually start properly PROMOTING events so people know when cards are taking place, and the fighters on them

I can't find a legal stream to watch it here in Argentina and I had ESPN+ but it didn't showed here.

They didn't part ways with Davis. He still owns a significant share, but John Martin is running the show.

i think they should consolidate all of these european / african / western chinese cards into just one event, per month and just have bangers.

i'm always confused that there is a country specific card, country specific champions, and then all of a sudden a card with the real titles?

a more streamlined approach would be better.

Instead of all the regional leagues, I've always thought PFL should run a sort-of like "Challenger Series" used to show off young and rising talent, and hold them in on-campus arenas at different universities across the country. Once a month shows, holding a sort-of "College Football Gameday" fan experience and pre-show broadcast to get students involved and interested (therefore building up a young customer base)... fuck maybe even have fighters do little appearances or coaching sessions or something with the host school's wrestling team or some shit... I think would be a fun idea to explore

idk

I'm embarrassed to admit I haven't watched as much PFL this year than I would have hoped to. In past years I watched much more of it. I can and will do better in 26.
