Ruiz fought AJ in Saudi too for the rematch and made $9 mill. He was much less popular than Usyk and not taken seriously by most as well (hence being AJ's short notice replacement for Jarrell Miller in the first place) and he actually stopped AJ the first time too, only one to do so in pros and popped his cherry. You're underselling Usyk's popularity and leverage. He isn't a megastar but is one of the bigger names in boxing.
