Universally Loved Fighters.

I don’t really think it’s fair to choose fighters who are no longer relevant as that’s kind of why nobody talks about them. Arlovski and Mir got tons of hate when they were relevant, especially the latter.

Lauzon appears to have always been liked but was never really a top of the food chain fighter. Maybe Maia? Never a champ but title shot in two different divisions. Even if you find his style boring, kinda hard to hate the guy.

Maia is a pretty good pick. He honestly just comes across as a genuine nice guy.

Although the detractors may not approve of all of his opponents from the Pride era, I don’t recall anyone specifically disliking Fedor as a person. Even those who may think someone else is a better heavyweight of all-time.

It's mainly his overzealous fans that people hate. I think everbody can agree that Fedor is a gentleman outside of the cage and super fun to watch inside of it.

I find bas annoying

Maybe less so as a commentator/personality but as a fighter I can't remember reading many negative opinions of him.

Again i think partly because his fighting career was not focused on either the UFC or Pride so he avoids the brand fanboy wars.

I always felt like it was GSP fans who hate on Anderson Silva and were cheering when he popped for steroids .

I don’t know why people can’t love and respect both guys.
Tribalism, National pride, ethnic bias, racial bias.

Lotta people use GSP as a symbol that white bois can fight especially in the earlier years when African Americans still dominated boxing and Thais dominated kickboxing and still do.

Lotta people use Silva as an example of black superiority that they dominate any combat sport, though the people making that argument are usually African Americans and not Brazilians.

I don’t like gsp because he’s boring and he came back for an easy fight. Fake double champ

Stop sending pics or names of your own favourite fighter, read the topic again. It's supposed to be universally loved fighter. Your best mentions have some haters too because they beat their favourite fighter, that's how the story goes.
Some one posted that can't be too good, correct. If you are good, you get haters.
I'd say Takeda, he has a lot fights but he hasn't beaten any one so he is universally loved. Even if he won some one, that was fixed, so he really didn't beat anyone.

Chael P Sonnen. Never turned down a fight and still managed to be undefeated and undisputed, never even lost a round.
