Undocumented Malian Immigrant Saves Child, Gets French Citizenship

Eve more impressive was his ability to climb so quickly with such massive testicles weighing him down.

Okay, fair enough.

Any illegal immigrant who scales a building to rescue a child should receive immediate citizenship.

Surprised no one made a thread on this. 22 year old kid scales four stories in less than 30 seconds to save a child.

Thoughts on him being awarded citizenship? I know there's someone out there thinking, "Laws are laws, he should be deported."

Good for him and the kid, pretty amazing story. But also a very rare and unique story with little bearing on the wider debate surrounding immigration, legal or otherwise, in Europe.

Holy fuck the balls on that dude.

Not sure what it has to do with immigration / citizenship laws tho.

edit- ignore that, I can now see the kid is standing on a ledge and hanging on the rail, I was like wtf?

How is that kid ever going to learn how to fend for himself if Malian hero keeps saving him?

How the fuck could a kid that young hang by his hands that long OR AT ALL. Is this some psyop bullshit or what?

Seriously.

there's another guy holding him.

he was either hesitant to pull him up, or he saw spider man coming and didn't want to steal his thunder.

If a thread can be made every time a migrant rapes someone, I think this thread is just as relevant to the overall immigrant discussion. The immigration debate is rarely about a nation's carrying capacity or the effects of undocumented workers on GDP or agriculture or tech or education. It is almost entirely about the quality of the people that are immigrating. I think that's a dumb thing to debate, but I'd argue that this story is perfectly consistent with the larger European immigration discussion.

Like the chap that saved people from the Islamist psycho in the Jewish supermarket , if someone is of good character and shows real quality why not recognise and reward it .

Nan the kid is actually standing on the floor and hanging onto the rail, I couldn't see it before.

The kid was awarded citizenship afterward. I don't know French law, but I assume this was an exception.

Pretty based. I'm fine with citizenship as a reward since special circumstances are everywhere in legal praxis.

edit: I'm fine with it until people start to stage this to get citizenship.

I think those stories are also irrelevant when they're isolated incidents for the same reason and playing a tit for tat game by trading positive and negative stories kind of obscure the more important facets of this debate you mentioned.

Yep. The guy could be a shitbag and go on to do horrors, but this act showed some real heroism and deserves recognition.

Agreed. But no one really wants to have a more substantial debate (at least I haven't seen any threads about such things), so I think adding positive stories to the discussion is better than leaving only the negative ones. Sometimes the game must be played.

You have a point but me personally, I prefer to avoid that kind of tit for tat game altogether. That said, this is a pretty exceptional story so its not the worst example of this sort of thing.

He is likely a cat burglar. He has some long ass arms, and is probably very tall. And the way he balanced himself like that must take practice. You don't climb like that on a mountain. He probably climbs buildings like that a lot.

And poor africans can join Foreign Legion, and get citizenship that way.

Lol.
Wow.
