Media Undisputed LHW champion in boxing Dmitry Bivol on how a street fight with Khabib would go "MMA is closer to a street fight, no point hiding it"

Same here, but a lot of posters get really upset when weapons or group attacks are discussed in the context of street fights.
It's a reality, but its also a thread derailer. Might as well put sharks with laser beams in it.

Even a guy who can strike can be hit from behind by multiple people. So what are we even doing? Of what value is that?

Bivol would beat the shit out of Khabib.
Khabib is slow and not quick enough to even lay a hand on him.
Bivol would break his face with a simple 1-2.
Bivol would throw a 1-2 and Khabib would slip under and double leg him
Then beat the crap out of him on the ground while controlling his wrists and not letting Bivol go anywhere
Then likely submits him too
Khabib's chin has survived way harder hitters than Bivol.

Haha I don't think they were asking Bivol who would win in a huge chaot gang brawl without weapons between him and Khabib, that might be a little complicated to answer as there are a large number of confounders. Luckily Bivol understood and stuck to the topic.

But if we're going by what you say regarding street fights, then surely Olympic sprinting would be the best part of self defense, as you are much likely to get hit with a glass bottle or sucker punched etc if you are far away from the scene than if you are sitting there trying to box people in the middle of huge brawl where it is impossible to defend yourself from all angles at once.

Is the Philly shell going to stop a knife in your back hahahaaha. Good luck trying to hit Usain Bolt in the back of the head with a bottle unless you have a really accurate and powerful throwing arm.

Pole vaulting might be a good base too. If there’s a building nearby, you just vault right over the bad guys and on to the roof.

I always found it little odd to bring up weapons and multiple opponents when discussing street fights and what style is best. If you bring weapons into it, it is no longer about comparing combat sports. Its like asking what is better vs 2 armed gunman; BJJ, Boxing, or Wrestling. None, because none of those are about self defense vs armed attackers.

When I imagine street fights I think of my younger days; 1 on 1 fight to settle beef, usually in a field or parking lot. Anything beyond that, multiple attackers, weapons, etc dives into the realm of criminal assault, and for that situational awareness and avoidance is far more usefull than a martial art.

The fact is, when you eliminate all of the other variables, in a 1 vs 1 street fight or a GOT style trial by combat I would take an MMA fighter like Khabib or JJ against any other combat sports athlete or martial artist.

Gus is 50 lbs bigger than Khabib so what is your point ? You're aware than lhw boxing is different than lhw MMA, right ?
Weren't you just argueing Bivol have pillowfist?

Surely you're not saying Gus hits harder than Bivol and that Bivol wouldn't KO khabib stiff bare knuckle? You're aware boxing use 10 oz gloves right?

Bivol can win if he brings 20 armed guys, no rules in a street fight *FACT*

Cool. Guy is smart.

He chose boxing has gotten to the top, made his money.
That is the point of prize fighting after all.

Respect. Bivol is a tremendous boxer.

Still Jones got out grappled for 5 rd:s by a Swedish national level boxer with zero wrestling background.

One is a pure boxer and the other is a grappling specialist.

Bivol can't stop the takedowns and he isn't exactly a 1 punch KO guy. There are fighters who have trained grappling their entire lives and can't touch Khabib, what makes you you think someone who is less trained could do so?
I mean, Bivol isn't a one punch KO guy to boxers

MMA bums with glass jaws is another thing entirely
