If you haven't seen this fight then I highly suggest giving it a watch or a rewatch if you haven't seen it in a while. Both of these guys went all out in this fight from the opening bell. Moicano abandoned the style he used to beat Stephens and instead opted to let his hands go. Meanwhile Ortega threw everything but the kitchen sink because he didn't fear the threat of the take down. Both guys took bombs and likely took a couple years off each other's careers.

I honestly feel like this fight will be like a Holloway vs. McGregor situation where both guys become champions later on. One of the more exciting featherweight fights I've seen.

A pretty underrated fight indeed, between an underrated fighter in Ortega (yes) and a very very VERY underrated fighter in Moicano.

I'll see how well he does against Cub before jumping to any conclusions.

Both guys are studs. Ortega just has a winner's mentality. Its something you cant teach. His intangibles are what separate him from the other top talents trying to climb up right now. You saw in the guida fight that bo matter what happens in the fight, he refuses to hit that buzzer withoit knowing he is the better man in the cage. Cant wait

Moicano is a certified badass tho, no doubt

He fights like a veteran yet he's still so young. He's a future champ no doubt.

Henato Moicano. Hemembe teh name. Henato Moicano

you could make the same thread about moicano vs tukhugov...

"You saw in the guida fight that bo matter what happens in the fight, he refuses to hit that buzzer withoit knowing he is the better man in the cage" - and this is what makes this fight so amazing, as Holloway has time and time again shown the same doggedness, even when he was a practical baby and got thrashed by Conor. There was just no quit in the boy and he would have likely went until he was in a body bag.

I'm going to be very interested if Holloway follows him to the ground, as the way he sonned BJJ black belt wiz Aldo on the ground was really impressive. Holloway just seems like a totally unafraid fighter, and when you totally fear the ground, it can really make you fight differently.

Also i respect Holloway to the highest degree. He is a tough s.o.b. who is fan friendly and super skilked. I believe he hit his stride in his last fight and has to be the most confident you can possibly get. This version of max is the only acceptable version i want. It'll prove just how good both these guys truly are

I never saw it as underrated.
Knew both guys are up and coming and knew fight is going to be good

Even took some money on Ortega. Was close, but clear victory for T city.

Moicano is the real deal. Ortega is THAT good. Great fight. Fortunate enough to see this live actually. Crowd loved it.

Haha, I didn't even notice the spelling error but know how you feel. Back in the days when everyone used AOL, keyboards and mouses, peeps always used to rag on others for spelling mistakes, but in the era of auto correcting IPads and smart phones, it is much harder to throw stones whilst living in glass houses.

Moicano played like a total coward against Stephens tho. Ortega called him like the point fighter he is.

Tcity was getting lit the fuck up in the second. Both landed big shots.

It's a fair wonderment. I'm curious as well. One thing though, Aldo's MMA BJJ and Ortega's are very very different. Jose goes out of his way (especially in the latter part of his career) to keep it standing, and if it hits the ground, its mainly used to scramble, create space, and get up. IF he stays on the mat, like versus Faber, its all about position and top control...so, not very submission minded. Defensive based.

Now, Oretga though, he ALWAYS thinks submission...it's one of the things I love about him. Da Bronx is similar as well. Look at the Cub fight. Everyone remembers the finish, which came from a standing clinch position...Cub left that neck out there for a SECOND, and boom, done and done.

BUT, people often forget his first sub attempt in that fight, at the end of the first round. Look how this one came about as well-standing, clinched up...Ortega doesn't waste energy going for TD's, he's learned from the likes of Maia. You have to use your stand up to create those opportunities.

That is fucking amazing. The whole sequence is stunning. 10 more seconds and that would have been the finish. Jose most likely would have thrown a knee and disengaged...to keep it standing.

I've found Aldo's lack of focus on his grappling very frustrating. Reminds me of BJ Penn at times. Ortega has proven he doesn't waste any opportunities.

Can't wait for this fight. Most pumped I've been in a while.

That fight was sick! Got to see it live, nbd.
