I am from the same ethnicity as Shavkat and I have nothing in common with neither russians nor dudes from Kavkaz.

Actually Islam, Khabib, Umar et al are not russians at all, they are minorities from Kavkaz... Kavkazians (Avars, Lakhs, Chechens).
Merab & Ilia Topuria are also from Kavkaz (Georgia).

Shavkat is hella Kazakh, born in Uzbekistan, but moved to his homeland Kazakhstan and grew up there. His ancestors were straight up Steppe nomads. Kazakhs put in work to preserve their traditions and resist Russia for a long time before getting their independence. Kazakhs were independent from Russia before Shavkat was born. If Shavkat gets the belt, that's for Kazakhstan. Don't try to take that from them and give to Russia

how is Khamzat an uncrowned champion? he has exactly ONE top 10 win in his ENTIRE MW CAREER, and it JUST happened. uncrowned champions are guys who aren't champions but have beaten practically the entire division. at the very least they've cleaned a good part of the top 10 out. Khamzat has done neither.

I would say that someone who is undefeated and is the odds on favorite to defeat the champ fulfills the criteria of "uncrowned champ".
Hopefully we will see the title fight soon.
