I guess after all the injuries, pull-outs, and weigh in failures the UFC has suffered, Dana started figuring out ways to save face and money.

He obviously booked Diaz to fight on UFC 230 so that if Khabib gets injured or pulls out of UFC 229, Conor still has Diaz to fight for the rubber match. The fight will obviously be sold out and Dana and the UFC will basically lose nothing.

Oh and the Conor - Diaz III fight will be for the interim belt.

Except its very unlikely that Diaz is on weight one month before his fight.

If Diaz fights McGregor it will be for the 165 Belt

yeah because Nate is super easy to negotiate with..

Except its Khabib with the fake belt, ffs he beat #11 ranked fighter coming of 1 fight in 3 years who had like a couple days notice.

Khabib should be stripped if he pulls out.

Dana already said he wants Ferguson on the same card as Conor vs Khabib
So, it will be Tony not Nate

Lol he never refused to fight anyone. He accepted every fight proposed. Just so happened the only guy left available was Laquinta.

You sir are the real genius. And the winner will obviously face GSP and make him a three division champ.

Conor can of course also be a three division champ if he beats Diaz again but how much I think of Conor, I can’t see him beating GSP in any weight class.

Where is this 165 belt talk coming from?

The dude who took the UFC from a failing company whose product was illegal in 40 some states and was a couple million dollars in debt when he took over... is not, in fact, an idiot? Wow dude, this post was deep....

So... if Nate somehow fights Conor, what will they be fighting for? A title? Not happenning, bruh, Nate is too dangerous of an oppennent for Conor to fight for "nothing".

Are you familiar with the English language and the term "figure of speech"?

With WME printing fiat interim titles at an alarming rate, creating new divisions to accommodate missed weigh-ins is just the next logical step.

if the ufc want to disband 170 and bring in 165 and 175 they can, at any time. they are officially recognised now by ABC as MMA weight classes

ABC approves adoption of four new weight classes for MMA

The ABC approved the addition of four new weight classes — at 165 pounds, 175 pounds, 195 pounds and 225 pounds, per multiple regulators in attendance at the conference. The weight classes will be called super lightweight, super welterweight, super middleweight and cruiserweight, respectively. The current 170-pound division — welterweight — will remain in the Unified Rules.
