Conor escaped Chad's guillotine attempt on the ground using a slick escape, got to his feet & K'd him TFO.

And 2 of his 3 submission losses were 5+ years ago, when Conor was a whitebelt.

The 3rd, and only one since Conor's brownbelt, was against a 1st degree jiujitsu blackbelt badass in Nate Diaz.

If you think there is any shame in getting subbed by a Diaz Brother, you haven't been paying close enough attention to MMA.

Thank you man, he isn't a worldbeater on the ground but he is skilled in defending. That split second timing gator roll out of Mendes fully locked in guillotine showed me he had done his homework. I admit I'm a Conor fan but Im also a realist. Conor mentally cracked in that fight as much as I hate to admit it, but he did. He has many excuses that led to him being on the receiving end of a RNC. Media, opponent change, size, stamina yadda yadda yadda. But Conor like Tyson vs Douglas was a victim of his own hype and quick rise to stardom. At the end of the day fighters are humans too with the same vulnerabilities Conor losing a 10 million dollar payday allegedly because of not wanting to break camp tells me the man is humbled and focused. In my opinion in his next fight we will see a Conor that actually fights to his full potential.

These aren't training partners, flow-drilling during practice. These are fighters, fighting. Diaz didn't 'let' Conor hit an X-guard sweep on him. Nate would have gladly stayed on top, and taken mount on Conor (as the 2nd round proved). Nate simply reacted to getting swept by at least claiming guard.

The best blackbelts don't lose their cool when their opponents execute a technique, they roll with shit. The Diaz Brothers exemplify this trait, perhaps more than most. Their 'I don't give a fuck' attitude translates well to their Jiujitsu style. (and their Boxing style, for that matter.)

oh yeah he looks deathly afraid and in panic mode as he was masterfully swept and controlled by an expert BBJ practitioner. he didn't even know what to do. Nate was lost at that moment he was broken. not like he just sit back and slapped Conor a few times as they fell back in slow motion. he hid his fear and panic masterfully this was a life and death situation. we all know Nate has never gotten swept like that.it was scary to watch thank god the bell rang or he would have choked him out.
