Umar is a good fighter and an a riser. Merab is the better grappler with insane cardio an pace. Would almost rather they save Umar for Sterling if Merab refuses fight. Why let Merab stop that fight if he won't fight Sterling.

Tbh, merab is an ugly matchup for everyone at 135 - i'd only favour cejudo against him rn.

If Merab is happy taking 2nd place while his teammate holds the title and has to wait until he vacates or loses it, this fight gives Umar the step up he needs and keeps Merab busy. I like it.
