How far did you dad get in MMA? I assume we know of him, if he got a UFC belt or similar along the way.

James Toney was probably the boxer with the best credentials and resume to fight in MMA so far. How far did he get?

He has no interest being a guinea pig for any corporations in style vs style. Needless to say, karatekas of his generation and national background were touch bitches. His instructor would hit him. He even had his teeth replaced. He's a yugoslavian Karateka.

I don't doubt they were tough but unless they were well rounded guys that trained standup and grappling, they wouldn't have gotten far in MMA. That's the point...there's plenty of skilled standup fighters, probably many better than Lyoto. Doesn't mean they'd beat him in MMA...

In no holds barred they could. That a boxer wins in boxing rules and a ufc fighter wins in UFC rules is really no big revelation.
