Ultimate 80's Memories Thread - Part 2 - The 80s Strikes Back

Summer of 1989.

When you went to the movies and saw posters on the wall for Batman, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Back to Future II, Ghostbusters II, Honey I Shrunk the Kids, and UHF.

Of those, I saw Honey Shrunk the Kids, BTTF2, and Batman in the theater.

Watching NWA wrestling on TBS, and during The Great American Bash. Southern fried wrasslin where you could still just be beefy without needing PEDs. The Fabulous Freebirds, the Rock and Roll Express, the Midnight Express, The Road Warriors, and The New Breed. Plus the Four Horseman (Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, Lex Lugar, and Ric Flair) and Dusty Rhodes. I used to have my mom rent me the vhs tapes at 7-11. A big gulp and NWA wrasslin and I was a happy boy.

I used to love this cartoon, "Noozles."

I love Space Camp. Most epic shuttle launch in movie history. Breakfast Club is a classic as well.

I shit you not though, I literally just watched Revenge of the Nerds like 2 days ago (for the first time ever) and Revenge of the Nerds II just a few hours ago (for the first time ever). Lol, good ol' 80s comedies. The gay black guy was funny as hell. He's the same guy from Space Camp!

I posted this in the last thread, but I remember racing home after school to watch this show in the early 80s. Someone else has gotta remember this show

I can't remember if it was the 1st or 2nd Revenge of the Nerds, but I always thought it was hilarious how they designed a special javelin for Lamar to go with his limp-wristed throwing technique. And then he destroys the throwing record or something. That kind of stuff probably wouldn't go too well these days in the movies

Of all the things I remember about the 80's and it was a lot the thing I miss the most is....

KUNG FU THEATER!!!!

First one. Yeah, that was hilarious.

Lol, ever notice how Chucky was always most funny when he wasn't trying to be. Then when they TRIED to make him funny, he absolutely was not.

Its on youtube right now. For those who never saw it.

LOL - you nailed it. FWIW, I haven't thought of Hunter in 25+ yrs.

Rick Hunter anime? Yeah, I vaguely remember it. 80's cartoons were so freaking awesome. Even to this day, if a re-run of some 80s cartoon is on TV, I have to take a minute and check it out. So much better than the garbage they put out today.
