I just discovered a movie for the first time ever last night that I had no idea even existed. I'd never ever heard of it before. So I watched it and from beginning to end I freaking loved it!

The Burbs
Date: 1989
Directed by: Joe Dante
Composer: Jerry Goldsmith
Starring: Tom Hanks, Carrie Fisher, Corey Feldman, Bruce Dern.....

I LOVED this movie. Seeing it was like finally being able to take a breath of fresh air. Almost all of the modern movies in Hollywood have become so sterile and desensitizing that a simple little picture like this was enough to really get me excited again. The movie was fantastic.
I watched this yesterday. It's one of my favs. That and Clue

Anyone remember "choose your own adventure" books?

Something about reading the bad endings of those books made me feel like they were entirely not appropriate for children as they explore the various sensations of their world going black

What do you think was the best part of the
80s? The early 80s, 80 to 83 mid 80s, 84 to 86
or the late 80s, 87 to 89.

For the early 80s.

Speaking broadly, it was the freedom we had in the 80's. Everything we did wasn't tracked by big tech. We actually went out, played, exercised, and had to extend ourselves for personal interactions. It wasn't all done on a hand held device. People were friendlier and more sociable. Pop culture was also more fun in the 80's than any other decade.
