Canada is going to take in at least 20,000 but it should be way more. Millions are internally displaced inside Afghanistan I think US owes to accept at least 1 million or 2 million and it would be great if Canada picked up say 500k

Of course we should, we're the one nation that is most responsible for the mess over there. I don't see how anyone could argue against that, the only questions are ones like how many can we take in and how do we sift through them and so on.

Its evil to go over there, smash their country, and then refuse to take responsibility for the fall out.

Ambassador Tracey Jacobson should be working her darndest to ensure SIV visas are expedited to the Afghanis that worked within the US embassy and as translators with the FOD and their immediate family members.

Increase consular staff in the regional embassies and consulates since our embassy in Kabul has closed.

The US embassy had a huge number of employees working within the walls. The majority are local nationals.

Western nations have an obligation to help anyone that has been compromised by working with or for us. Many stuck their neck out in more than precarious situations, the least we could offer them is shelter from the enemies they helped us to fight.

I’m sure there are a lot of opportunists who assisted the US out of convenience or selfishness, but those people will just switch allegiance and continue on, business as usual. The rest are good, hard working people who wanted better for their families and country.
