After some thinking, I'm hoping to be on Taylor Lapilus.

At first I was considering a play on Issa because of the combination of him being he was an underdog and I felt disappointed in Lap's last fight against Perez. Lap should be able to outstrike him and pressure Issa and beat him up. Lap just needs to not overreach and get taken down. Issa is a terrible fighter for being a high level BJJ black belt. He constantly gets out wrestled and the only striking he's got is his leg kicks and if Lap pressures him like I think he will, I believe Lap will beat him to the punch.

Here's to hoping he drops to -110 or something..!

Can't trust half the fighters on this card and add all that ring rust, its going to be one long difficult card.

When you have Ryan Bader as a -220 favorite you know it's slim pickins. Even though I think he'll win. Imagine trying to convince your friend, "Hey, I got this bet for you, 220$ to win 100$ on....... Wait for it.... Ryan Bader!! Let me show you his last fight..." He's probably got more lowlights than he has highlights smh..

Agree on Lapilus, Reb. Hoping for his line to drop a bit so I can bet him.

I would have liked Hein a lot more had to trained at Tiger...

I dunno i like the fact hes saying he needed a head coach and thats hes been addressing combining his striking and judo. He has to use his judo in this fight if he has an ounce of fight iq bangs tdd is awful. He also talked about doing more tape study on his opponent than he normally does

I'm ready to show I'm the best

I don't look for the KO, they will come, it's just about winning, this is my time for a win streak, his last two opponents don't have great records, he's going to have a rude awakening, I've had a fantastic camp, I'll build pressure and wreck him

I don't think baders last few wins have been that impressive, rashad has been bought up a few times but that guy was relevant what a 100 years ago and after his ko loss probably long time retired, one could almost forget him and just picture him on the desk where he is best at. Bader also I felt lost to phil davis, but a super close fight and ko loss to rumble is standard. Latifi similar but I feel he is getting a bit underestimated here, the guys a 2 time Swedish national wrestling champ, he was able to rag doll villante, grind him against the cage and take him down also but yeah he does have issues controlling guys on the mat at times. Against bader the wrestling probably still favours baders style but I don't think he will do it much latifi is a decent counter puncher himself and has solid gnp and hits like a brick.
Latifi also can look for subs a bit more then bader does, so I like latifi as a live dog but would not be surprised if bader gets the decision with his play safe predictable style, lets hope latifi counters one of those hammers to baders chin.

Ive done no research on this fight but Latifi has never really impressed me, and I will never get the sequence of Bader being rocked then choked out by Tito out of my mind. Bader defo has a dodgy chin. The obvious plays are Bader dec, Latifi KO whichever side you are on. I think i lean Bader dec but may take Latifi KO just for value.

That's still the main reasons why I like Issa as a live dog, Laps over reaches often guess its that 24 year old hunger and youth, he often has good r1s and stays fine game plan wise but then he has trouble against fighters taking him down or not giving up something Issa does by default. I also think Issa could land his kicks on Lap since he may stay on the outside bit too much also, after all will Laps close the distance on a 3rd degree bjj black belt? even if he bad on the ground at times.

Will be looking at Issa r2,r3 sub props and decision line for him and laps in-between live betting as usual.

Bader is -270

Meanwhile Latifi is on a 3 fight win streak, Bader just got KO'ed, plus the Power MMA has had a horrible track record recently... Darrion Caldwell, Joe Gigliotti, never mind Bader's main training partner Daniel Sarafian - all favorites.

Think the Macedo/Smith has been discussed or worn out by now, but no confidence picks on either but did notice macedo is tiny like 5.3" and smith is 5.8" so should be interesting during the weigh ins.

I like macedos pace, cardio and kicking game but its hard to not imagine the bigger and heavier smith just laying on her given her wrestling back ground. If macedo shows ability to get back to her feet or she shows she can land her kicks and stick and move, may hit a live bet on her and check her decision prop, otherwise could be a boring smith decision otherwise.

I was hoping to throw Lapilus in my big parlay with Gus but after watching tape i slightly lean Issa. Lapilus looked clueless off his back against Perez, and Issa's takedowns aren't that bad as long as he isn't panic shooting. On the mat I can see Issa finishing him if he gets him flat on his back in the middle of the cage. Close fight tho i will be holding off for lb.

yeah hard fight really, heart wishes to pick Laps but he is still 24, young and in-experienced but a solid striker, bit of a messy grappler vs sharp striker fight so got to see who is having there game better on the afternoon!

He still trains in Paris too so I'm not sure what kind of grappling he is getting there.

These are my picks.
I'm third in the MMA Analysis league so I'm doing ok!

i still haven't figured out the sweet spot on the mma analysis picks, either last year or this year, haha. how much of it should be going against the grain to move up the ladder when right, how much is just "take the 1 point favorite", etc

he's so much more ripped than bellator days, just a different fighter in all likelihood

i think askham does have the striking edge here (and having that UFC experience does help), but i think hermansson might have more ways to win. i think he's the better grappler
