wasn't held winning the striking exchanges before he opted to grapple diego and got dominated?

i wouldn't be at all surprised if held sticks to a striking approach this time.

Then that means he's not a comfortable striker yet. He either hasn't put in enough rounds in the gym or he hasnt sparred enough or he just keeps reverting back to his roots.

I remember him rocking Diego in the 1st but if he had some success in that, why not go to it? Bad IQ? Octagon jitters? I don't know the answer to that but you can't put any trust into him following a striking gameplan after that til he proves it. There's tons of tape on Diego and he couldn't come up with a plan that works? He fell off after the 2nd round after a successful 1st round what happened there?

I'm not saying you should all drop several units on Lauzon but to bet Held is risky to think he's changed til he proves it. I'd rather go with the known commody in this instance.

He was, but he wasn't blowing Diego out or anything. Even in round 1 with a full gas tank the striking was very, very competitive

yeah honestly this is a pretty bad fight to bet on, i saw some value on held at +125 so hit it small.

i wouldn't be surprised if lauzon pulls through but i didn't like his striking against jim miller. plus, lauzon has been through some outrageous wars, freshness could be key here.

Was going to bet Held if he became a bigger dog (looks unlikely), so might put a small bet on Lauzon if he becomes a dog. Think its a toss-up, will probably just pass the more I think about it lol. Trying to remember to not be as much of a degen in 2017..

He's been in some wars but through and through he proves he's still capable of getting into these wars.

Jim Miller has great combinations don't underestimate his striking abilities. I haven't seen Held throw any combos like Jim has.

Lauzon knows his limitations when it comes to his striking. He's not a slick striker by any means or a finesse guy but he's very rugged and can get things ugly. He's got a basic defense of covering up and that's about it. He's coming forward and pressuring guys trying to hit them with big shots or threatening with his grappling til you break.

Can Held deal with that? He might be the fresher fighter in terms of damage but Bellator's pool didn't offer much resistance either so maybe that could mean Held doesn't have the experience to handle a guy like Lauzon getting in his face. I bet if Lauzon went to Bellator he'd be fighting for the belt TBH. Not saying he'd beat Chandler but he'd probably put up a good fight or at least beat the other challengers.

Rebel is right. Everyone please bet Lauzon while hes -110. There is literally nothing Held can do here, his path to victory is hold Lauzon down and that is unlikely. Held's striking is getting vastly over stated. Its not very good, and ffs Diego gave him a hell of a first round on the feet

Anyone know the fight order? Wiki lists chris and klose as 2nd and 3rd fights but ufc website says otherwise?

Will someone tell me why white is +240 because I don't see it after watching tape

Take him then. Lower the odds for Martin. I oddly agree that the price is too expensive for Martin and that White's got some value but I'm on Martin :)

Alex White has a lot of experience in terms of his amateur, boxing, kickboxing background. And I've listened to him talk he seems like a really nice humble kid. He's got that speech impediment because of that accident he went through and he's just an overall good guy helping kids with autism and things like that I hope he does well.

Tony is 2-3 in the UFC catching a beating in his debut and getting finished twice of the 3 losses. He's coming off a serious back surgery that could've ended his career. He's had trouble in every single one of his fights with leg kicks that he's yet to address. That last Brazilian chewed his legs up, so did Leo Santos. The Russian and Beneil hit him with some hard body kicks. Seems as though he's offensive minded but hasn't shored up his defense.

Things to consider. Lower them damn odds I can't believe I missed the opener at -155.

You dont see it as in you like the value?
Yes I like the value after watching tape

Martin - bigger, better grappler, meh wrestling, meh striking, bad cardio, bad striking defense, coming off neck surgery

White - better striker, great cardio, good power, tougher, southpaw

Martin -333
White +240
???

Should be much closer imo.

I kind of agree. @Belgrade with his insider info and always draining 5d of their funds is my biggest worry tbh lol but I think I might end up on White dec at +400
