UFN 103 - pbp/discussion

Saenz on the down. Seems like the Faber fight was his peak. Has looked bad since.

Yeah, especially with the new judging criteria.
I'm not 100% sure Arizona is using the new rules yet. Some states aren't using them, like New Jersey.

Nina Ansaroff should've gotten at least 30-26 in her fight, not 30-27. One of those rounds was a clear beat down.

i saw it mile away coming that augustos striking has improved a lot. dude won tonight and then goes home and sleeps with mackenzie dern. whata life. dude ofc deserves that pussy. uagusto bless.

Guess judges liking take downs still lol

On klose but 2 unknowns with ufc debuts so always a nightmare

I had basically no action after rd 2 where I took Mendes +165. I really didn't care who won at that point. I think the right guy won, but it was super close.

For my own health I can't bet large on any fights the same day the packers play.

Oh didn't think about this. Does anyone know?

lets go Klose! if he looses i will kick my own ass for real

That Saenz loss hurt a bit. I honestly don't see Mendes going to the top...

How did Mendes stun Saenz so many times with that striking technique. It baffles me that Saenz didn't shoot for double leg in the middle of the octagon

Shooting on a BJJ wizard? {<jordan}

taking this fight off. i'm so fucking sick of these judges.

@Buddy Brown

"grappler with no wrestling or striking, and Saenz should be able to keep it on the feet with his D1 wrestling chops. "

"I've seen nothing from Mendes on tape that shows me he can take a D1 wrestler down"

Talking out of your ass when you have no idea what you are talking about.

Don't you ever get tired of embarassing yourself?

Mendes' last win is over a guy with a 5-5 record. He's been grappling his whole life, and he's now 33. Saenz isn't a world beater, but he's competing at a much higher level of MMA. You can't significantly improve your striking at his age in one year with no prior experience, and if you think you can you obviously haven't ever trained.

There is levels to this and you can't just instantly go from a 5-5 bum to someone who did well against a top 10 guy in Faber just a year ago.

If you're betting on Mendes, you should be hoping he can somehow take a D1 wrestler down and fight to his strengths (which is possible and why I'm not betting Saenz at a crappy price)

Was on Saenz after round 1. Stings a bit but thats what it is.

Round 3 was Mendes' round no matter old rules or the new. He rocked him, got two TDs and outstruck him.

Yeah guys, I dont wanna be a dick but giving Saenz round 3 would be really weird with both the old or the new juding criteria.
