They acquired some huge stars from that deal.

I thought Rampage and Lyoto came from them buying WFA.

I guess they paid tons of money for a Library and was able to bring a few fighters .. other than that it was a huge scam

That scam has effectively established UFC Fight Pass.

They genuinely needed the fight library to launch a platform of their own where people would then pay to watch meaningless prelims.

It was a bold, intelligent move IMO.

i don't think that's how they got Anderson. Anderson had been gone from Pride a while by then and UFC bought Pride in 2007 which is a year after Anderson debut'd and after he destroyed Franklin the 1st time so he was already a UFC champion by the time UFC bought Pride.

This is correct. Those two and Eastman were basically the entire reason the UFC bought out WFA.
