Netflix to air special live events, selected past events and specialrt content
Is this official?
Not official. But something's up since UFC promoted netflix's poor excuse of a movie Bright.
One has nothing to do with the other
Companies buy sponsorship
They were not the first movie to do so with UFC
I expect even more since WME reps a lot of films
Bright is a movie excluisve to netflix.
Incase you're unsure what that means or you don't have netflix some programming is only available on netflix. An advertisement for the movie "Bright" is not exactly an advertisement for a movie, because in order to watch it you NEED Netflix so in reality it's telling you to pay for netflix so that you can watch bright.
I wont say it's the first/only netflix exclusive program to be featured as an advertisement inside of the octogon (I typically don't pay mind to those things) but if it is than it's actually quite a bit different from a box office film advertisement.
Netflix paid UFC to advertise it, just like prior movie studios paid UFC to promote films
Its still advertising
UFC even admitted they were paid to promote it in Social Media
Also, it is very similar.
You pay to go see a movie in a theater & you pay Netflix to watch a movie at home
Its product awareness by paid advertising
Could Netflix bid & maybe get some UFC programming? of course
But just bc they paid to advertise on UFC platforms does not mean something is up
WME's wheelhouse are things like this.
