Aesthetics aside, these guys fought because they wanted to prove they were the baddest. No jockeying, rank squatting, or pricing themselves out. We went from the "Just Scrap" era, to the "Money Fight" era. They should all be paid handsomely, but the politics and drama queen bullshit really dilute the sport.

As yes, who can forget the origins of the UFC in the Gracie challenge, which was literally a marketing campaign meant to drive customers to Gracie academies. And not to shit on the Gracies, but the Gracies were notorious for whining and whinging to get any edge in rule sets and matchups. If that isn't drama queen behavior in combat sports, I don't know what is.

Your forgetting Chuck and Randy. To a lesser extent you could add Rampage, Tito, Gina Carano, Cung Le, Bisping, Jardine, Oleg Taktarov, Franklin, Todd Duffe, Arlovski etc all had multiple roles in movies. Mayhem Miller had a show for several years on MTV. Ken Shamrock, Tank, and Dan Severn all did pro wrestling. Hell Nate Diaz is probably more well known to the public then GSP and Jones at this point. Also you can't forget Tyron Woodleys Oscar level performance getting his cock chewed off by a racoon. He really put his heart and soul in to that role.
