Depends on the sport.
Fights are meant to be viewed at home. Football at the stadium is awful.
Baseball is really really good live.

Nothing out of the ordinary happens. Nothing organic. It's stale as fuck.

It's only a scam if event tickets cost an absolute fortune.

They shouldn't, and there's absolutely no reason for the UFC to chase massive gate receipts when they're just as likely to hold an event behind closed doors the next week.

PPV cards? Tickets should start at $100.
Fight Night cards? Tickets should start at $50.

It's not about making the UFC live experience 'premium' in a second mortgage-type situation, it's about making it one of the most sought after tickets in town.

The UFC ain't getting it right.

Attend a live event, and you're seeing dolls in dresses who have no fucking idea what they're watching, and loud mouth assholes more interested in taking cocaine and yelling WOOO and booing than people genuinely wanting to watch the fights.

Bring down the prices. Install a loyalty system, but one that doesn't account for 100 % of tickets. Get real fans in to appreciate the fucking fights.

The UFC have enough subscription-based services and membership-based services to know who's who, but they're more interested either locking fans out (the Apex) or pricing fans out (their PPV events).
 
I thought they were supposed to stop doing these? But, seems they have signed up for more. I guess it's cheap filler to help fulfill their ESPN obligations, but seems like a money loser with no live gate.

Its cheap payroll too, ESPN is paying for it, you wont see a fighter with a name there, even headlining.
 
Apex is dumb as hell at this point.

It's like watching WNBA without crowd.

Bring back full live crowds for Fight Night cards please. Plus you’re not just getting the epicness of the crowds energy but also hate revenue too!

Not for everything but you do have a point. I've been to UFC with great seats and had an awesome time, I've been to ones where the venue was not suited (stadiums) and would have been better watching at home for sure.
