A senior Manitoba civil servant was stripped of his assistant deputy minister title after Premier Brian Pallister learned he travelled to Las Vegas to referee a UFC match, but the government refuses to say whether the employee had been granted permission for the travel.
Jerin Valel was hired as the interim assistant deputy minister of transformation as of early March, but was moved back down to his director position this week after the premier learned of Valel's travel for his side gig.
Valel has been refereeing at UFC matches around the world since 2012, and was the referee for multiple matches in Las Vegas before and after a travel ban was issued by Pallister on Feb. 1.
Most recently, he was a referee at UFC 260 on March 27, which was broadcast to millions of people across the world on pay-per-view. "
You dun goofed, Jerin.

Thanks dude! If I continued on it would have been at 145, maybe even 135. I wanted to focus on the fight instead of the weight cut for my debut.Great fight man!..way to go overcoming the size difference man...
You know that the NHL did a temporary division realignment just for this season, right? All 7 Canadian teams were put in the same division and each team in the league is only playing within its own division. This way none of the Canadian teams ever have to cross an international border, at least until the playoffs.Honest question:
Have any hockey refs flown from from Manitoba to Las Vegas to work Black Knight's games?
I find it odd that the borders are closed except for those involved in the NHL.

I think he was a good ref even tho he didn't react on time during fight ending sequence in the fight from the photo. Hopefully he will find another employment quickly.
At first I was like who? and then I was like well I don't know who he is so he must not have fucked up a lot.I thought this guy was pretty good he was quiet like Jason Herzog but he never had any threads made about him until now so he must've been doing something right.. lol.
Yeah.Lol you mean the Golden Knights?
It's like a manlet but with skinnier armswhat the fuck is a Manitoba?

He'll still make over 100k a year in MB. Keep his government pension.umm this seems a bit, misleading
he get demoted.... from an extremely high paying job to a very good paying job lolol.
he was made an "example" of... might have been the plan all along. nothing to see here folks.
Work isn’t essential bro, don’t be so foolish. We don’t need to work, we can just lose our homes and live off $2000 a month for years lol...
"lost" he got demoted from an amazing position to a great position... this is just a finger wag, a "no no no" for everyone to see. sadly this is someone they can make an example out of... nothing to see here, really.Hes not let go from reffing..its his other job i believe he lost....
