Is there an age restriction for becoming a UFC fighter? Can a talented 15 year olds for example join UFC ranks? If so, what advantages do younger fighters have over 25+ old fighters? Speed? Cardio?

Edit: this is a serious question that I honestly don't have an answer to. This, by no means, is an attempt at trolling

There is no age restriction. UFC looking at adding divisions all the way down to 25 pounds. If you can walk you can fight.

Jordan Mein was 16 yrs old for his First fight. He lost Vs a 17 yrs old Rory MacDonald.

Not in in the UFC tho

This and I think Erick Silva hasn't reached puberty yet.

Nope, you can enter as a new born baby AFAIK.
Also, nice streak of troll threads man. Finally had it with this forum?

Think you have to be at least 18. Unless your name is Erick Silva..

You been here since 2010 and these are the kind of questions you ask?

i think they could probably work out 16 if parental consent is involved. you can work in the US at 14 but with limited hours.

i believe under 18 athletes have competed in foreign bball and soccer leagues, so if the fight is not in the US as long as the appropriate contracts are signed i do not see why the UFC would care.

Does anyone know the answer? All I see is pure speculation so far and no definitive answers

I can definitively say you are trolling.

That's a slam dunk.

I think 21 is general ofcourse there are some 19 year olds who make it but I feel 21 is the youngest an avg fighter gets in. And it’s the age required for tuf.

The age minimum is determined by the athletic commission that is sanctioning the fight. In most of the state athletic commissions it's 18 years old. The UFC probably has not put a rule in place so that they give themselves the freedom to sign people younger than that if they need to lock up a young fighter before another promotion does. Then if they want to let him fight they just find a venue with a commision that will sanction him at the current age (if under 18). Or wait.

Not too sure someone that young would have many advantages over experienced fighters who've been training much longer. That's just the average though, there would surely be an outlier here and there that could make noise I suppose. I would have to imagine that speed, quickness, and reflexes would be the only advantages at a young age, if forced to name any...
