The Professional?

I am just pwning the movie trivia up in this betch

Taking it down might be less about protecting Jones' image and more about protecting his right to get licensed. I think an athletic commission may not be jumping at the chance to put a guy in a cage with another guy who he threatened to "literally" kill.

I guess they want to protect Jones' image.

Jones already admitted he said all types of things and cursed, before the video even dropped. So it has to be something else.

"We all have hats to wear," Jones said. "So I can feel something about someone and express the way I feel, but when the camera is on, I have a job to do. I represent a brand. I represent a fanbase and I'm not going to be an idiot on national TV just because I don't like the person who's on the other side of the camera. So yeah, he's telling the absolute truth. I swore, I told him all types of [profane], terrible things and when the cameras went on, I was professional. If you consider that fake ... "
...
"You show different sides of yourself throughout the day," Jones said. "In one day, we can show a hundred different hats. Who's the same person all the time? Everyone has different sides of themselves."

That was said before the video.

I dont give a shit about the UFC brand. I want to see the real Jon Jones.

you're an idiot

Almost certainly.

However, there was an episode of The West Wing where President Bartlett gave a series of interviews one morning, and after one had finished and he thought the cameras were off, the interviewer asks him a question and the answer he gives disparages the intellect of his opponent; ".22 calibre mind".

It was embarrassing and the White House had to apologize, but the entire news cycle ended up comparing Nobel Laureate Barlett's intellect with his hopelessly outmatched opponent.

Bartlett knew the camera was on, and in pretending he thought he was off the record, he turned the national discussion into something he simply could not lose, without officially making an attack.

I sincerely doubt this is the case here, but all the press surrounding the heat isn't hurting PPV sales.

Oh, don't get your panties in a bunch guys. I think that's just an auto copyright thing with youtube. The video is still up everywhere, like here: http://mmajunkie.com/2014/08/video-hot-mics-catch-daniel-cormier-and-jon-jones-and-a-death-threat

So you can watch it over and over again :icon_lol:

Jones. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" on his chest. He is not being very Christian by saying he would literally kill someone for spitting in his face.

What happened to "turn the other cheek"??

I really can't wait for this fight.

What a wierd and largely pointless response.

Cliffs:

The "hot mic" move is not new.

It is not inconceivable that this was staged for publicity, even if it's really unlikely.

That right there. That's perfect. Now I'm with you. When in doubt, always Keep It Simple Stupid.

..Trying to bring West Wing shit into sherdog. Out yo got-damn mind.

I loved that show and it kills me that it's been forgotten.

Nobody really believes that shit, not even Xians. The tattoo is against one of their goofy rules. People do what they want no matter what their cult rules are.

Does anyone ACTUALLY believe the UFC wants this covered up? Their response is like how I tell my kids not to do the precise thing I want them to do.
