News UFC PPV's to now be $74.99 USD

{<jordan}

They must really want 50% + of their US fan base to stream. Its getting to the point that even if they figured out a way to prevent illegal streams, I personally would find new sports besides NFL to watch.

They might as well just start charging $100, because it might just pan out better for the idiot silver spoon casuals that will still pay for it.

i guess people still don't realize the money isn't going to Dana, it's going to WME/IMG's debt consolidation.

Dana has made his money a long long time ago when WME/IMG bought the UFC for billions. you dummies who keep whining about Dana don't even understand that's exactly what he wants. that's what he's being paid for. to take the heat off of Ari Emmanuel and the rest of the real culprits.

I'm sure that the additional revenue will be used to increase fighter pay

UFC - We've made record amounts of money and are super profitable

Also UFC - Let's gut the fans that support us even more and keep raking in the dough

Who pays that much for these shitty cards?

Time for streaming and bittorrents

Something tells me fighter pay hasnt gone up 25% in three years

How about $10 a month for every PPV and ESPN card? Feel free to charge an arm and leg for individuals buying a single event but there should be an affordable package deal for everything.

When I used to live in Hong Kong I paid 10$ a month for all the PPV's. I also got all the Premier League games included, it was the best sports package I have ever had.

The fertitta’s are the real culprits. They maxed out and sold with a valuation predicated on the ability to keep costs down. They could have changed the dynamics before they sold and taken less of a gain, but of course, they didn’t. The buyers of course are going to stay the course. They wouldn’t have had the winning bid if they didn’t value the company based on the cost structure.

It's probably down 25% between the increases and cutting guys like reem, werdum, jds, to replace them with Porter, parisian, and martinez.

If only there was a way to get these fights for free.
Well, not free, but a 95% reliable IPTV service for $60/yr seems like a steal, from them, lol. I might have to make a extra $15 donation next year. You know...to keep there servers running better then ESPN's .lol

Fuck them real shit when will this stop 150$?

In a strange coincidence, control of pricing is one of the calling cards of monopoly power. Strange.
While I do agree with you in this case the UFC doesn't set the price. Actually with the current model the UFC doesn't make a dime off of ppv. They negotiate a guaranteed price per event with ESPN. The price differs based on expected ppv buys, who's actually on the card, is a title on the card, etc. For example ESPN would pay the UFC different if McGregor headlined a card with the LW title on the line and a co main with Nate vs a Volk title fight with no other high profile fighters on the card. ESPN pays the UFC and then ESPN either reaps the reward of having more people buy then expect, get about the results they expected or take the risk of not having the event sell as well expected. The UFC already got paid by the UFC regardless of how the event actually sells.

Anyway I wrote all that to say ESPN sets the prices not the UFC.

They must think we are a bunch of simps to keep jacking up the price on us. They saw Canelo charging 80 bucks for his last PPV. Guess they figured they could do the same. Unless the card is stacked to the highest level I can't see myself paying these fees. I used to be able to go to sports bars to watch the fights, Now most in my area don't carry the fights. Guess I'll be doing what everyone else seems to be doing to watch the fights.

Someone who actually knows what he's talking about.

Btw, location should be manditory in these threads. If you ain't living in the US, STFU and leave the threads.

If they charged $49.99 a month for the PPV, Fight Pass and ESPN+, I would do it every month, no question. They need a package deal.

If they charged $600 a year up front for just all PPVs and Fight Pass, I'm in.

But alone without being able to split the cost, $960 a year with tax just for the PPVs and $120 for FP plus $65 for ESPN+...
