UFC on ABC 5 is absolutely stacked.

Much love big guy.

Right back at ya

Topuria throwing hooks might work out in his favor only because his are shorter and cleaner, but I feel it would benefit him to work off of some straights.

Not sure how much Emmett has left in the tank but his power is still there.
He might even still have some speed left I guess we'll see.

I just think it entirely depends on Emmett, like where he is at. He's old for his weight class, and Topuria is a monster so, it won't bode well for him if his chin is shot and he's slowed down.

If Emmett still has it, as great as Topuria is, I can see this going both way in a devastating way.

Look at her eyes, a bit droopy brother lol.
Her forehead you could land a fuckin 747 on that stretch lmao

lolol-lmao.gif

Since you mention it, I cannot unsee how long her forehead is haha, but for me, she looks decent in that pic lol. At least before I read your spot on description of her pic lmao

damn congrats on the old account

and you saying its stacked, in addition to it not meaning youre a shill , it also doesnt mean anything at all

The quality of the card can be a subjective thing but that's what I think, which may not be same as what you think, so we agree to disagree.

So, I just went through the cards next month, and just realized how great this card is, so just wanted to send out a little PSA since a lot of sherbros like to talk about how good the cards are before and after, and I guess there are complaints more than ever that cards nowadays are watered down and what not.

None of the cards that are coming up before this one is nothing to write home about. But this one is actually surprisingly really good.

1. Peek vs Martinez

- A fight for just bleed fans, Peek is a wild man and Martinez is no pushover.

2. Jenkins vs Emmers

Jenkins looked pretty good last time out, so did Emmers beating a 23-0 prospect. Jenkins last lost 5 years ago and is 11-2. This is a great fight to see where he's at against a tough opponent.

3. Taira vs Rodrigues

I wasn't sold on Taira as first, but warming up to the kid, likely the future of JMMA rests on his shoulders with Rinya right along. Personally much higher on Rinya, but Taira looks really legit.

I'm sure lots are writing Rodrigues off, but he's 8-2 with two split decision losses.

4. Gillian vs Ricci

So, Gillian is actually a pretty good grappler, though some of you may not like WMMA. Kinda one trick pony yes, but she’s one of those actually exciting female grapplers in UFC, and there aren’t that many.

There IS a risk of Ricci blanketing Gillian though, so on a second thought, there’s that.

5. Robocop vs Tiuliulin

This also could be a just bleed fight, though there's a clear path to victory for Robocop with Tiiuliulin looking terrible off his back. Robocop always brings it though, so either way, violence. If standing, who knows as well?

6. Soriano vs Dumas

Soriano once was a promising exciting prospect, but after three losses, it’s not looking as promising, but still an exciting fighter, and he did lose to good fighters in Allen, Kopylov, and Maximov.

Dumas is 7-1, and there was some controversy about the guy, so kinda curious how this plays out. Unless Soriano can wrestle him, and not sure if Soriano has cardio to do that, so it could be just bleed fight while it lasts. Might be a loser go home fight.

7. Mateusz Rebecki vs Loik Radzhabov

Rebecki is 17-1 and hasn’t lost in almost 9 years and Loik is 17-4-1.

LW is probably that one weight class that has been consistently stacked, and sounds like a good fight between two guys with fine looking records to see how they look against each other.

8. Randy Brown vs Wellington Thurman

Brown recently got starched by Jack, but he’s actually a tough out for a lot of guys, and mostly only lost to the elites of the division.

Thurman is still 26 years old and he got blanketed by Petroski recently, but he’s a solid fighter too. Not a match up that crossed my mind, but a fight between two decent WWs.

9. David Onama vs Gabriel Santos

Wasn’t Onama the guy whom Krause apparently lost a lot of money on?

Anyhow, Onama had a bit of a hype I guess and looked pretty great until Nate put a stop to all that, but still doesn’t change the fact that he looks like he’s a pretty good interesting fighter, and Santos should be still undefeated in my opinion. A Banger that is!

10. Lane vs Tafa

Lane has 12 wins and 11 (t)Kos and all three of losses are by (t)kos. He’s a super tall guy too at 6’6, also known as Sherdog average.

Tafa has 100 percent (t)ko winrate at 6-3. Though no fight is boring-proof, sounds like just bleed fight! Let the heads roll!

11. Magny vs Rowe

6’3 WW Rowe has been looking phenomenal lately. Going up against another all too common 6’3 WW in Magny who is a tough out for anybody. Well other than Gilbert Burns and so on.

Magny is really a great test to where someone is at, since he’s super tough and a game fighter and only mostly loses to great fighters.

12. Bruno Silva vs Brendan Allen

I was high on Bruno when he was coming into UFC. I know that he lost to Gerald, but he’s still 4-2 in UFC with 4 (t)kos. Not sure if he’s a champ material, but a super dangerous fight for anybody.

Allen is having a really nice UFC career going, on a 4-fight winning streak as well, though he probably should’ve lost to Malkoun.

This is a great MW fight between two great MW fighters in their primes though not big names.

13. Ribas vs Maycee

Now, both former WMMA blue chip prospects.

SameAbleDrongo-size_restricted.gif

Ribas has looked phenomenal in her last outing, whereas Maybe won by a robbery. Maycee should’ve lost to Maverick too, but technically on a four fight winning streak.

This is a very interesting WMMA fight. Ribas is clearly a more talented, better fighter, but Maycee can likely rob anybody on any given night and she does have power, though prone to punching air more often than not, and likely has a bigger room for improvement.

I don’t think Maycee is very good, but I do think she has natural talent for WMMA standards, which is probably why the hype started in the first place. I think she has limited skillset and you can go on your natural talent only for so long, which is why she def should’ve lost to Lee and Maverick.

This is a very interesting WMMA fight though.

It could be said that this is the fight between the best WMMA prospect from 2018 and the best WMMA prospect from 2019, whereas for both it wasn’t smooth sailing until this point.

14. Emmet vs Topuria

What else can I say about this fight?

Hope everyone's dialed in to this card starting super early!

Not many fights I'd want to miss, so hope it doesn't catch any Sherbros out!

Good thread bro!

In a way, it sucks that it's so early, because I'm sure earlier in the day, even on saturdays, it may not be easy to watch it, I actually found out today or yesterday, because they didn't release the air time earlier. :(

UFC is really peculiar in this regard.

I totally understand why they sometimes put a European fighter in a main event and therefore decide they want it to take place so that Europeans can watch it.

As a European, that's kinda cool.

But also... I'd be just as happy to watch that 'main event' followed by postlims, further into the night.

Put the key fight in the 'main event' slot, but it doesn't always have to be the final fight of the night as long as it's tactical, and not just a repetition of what Bellator mindlessly does when they run out of time for their prelims.

UFC literally have Fight Pass.

There's no reason fights can't go on afterwards on Fight Pass.

I think Bellator just scraped bunch of fights for that Nemkov card, that was pretty fucked up, no postlims.

Maybe that's what it is, maybe they are trying to cater to Georgia come to think of it, like you say, it is 11pm over there when the main card starts. Didn't think Ilia was big enough to shift the tv time that large, but maybe so.

oh well, I guess for ufc, it's more like at this point if you can watch it, good, if not, good, lul.

Too bad Robocop fight fell out, it was a guaranteed violence, but they added extra fight too, so I guess, this card really did stay intact pretty well. Better than most.
