Media UFC no longer offering comp tickets to fighter's families

I vaguely hear that they get 2 tickets per event in their contract. Pretty much just call them and it'll be waiting for them at the door.

The Apex could be different given the limited seating. It looks like there's room for maybe 80 odd that's not officiating or media? Say 50 odd are for the celebs and teammates that happen to be fighters, 15 fights on a card = 30 tickets. Yeah it still fits, but it becomes a bit of a tight fit

You're not wrong but that's how businesses think. They aren't a charity. What you think is avaricious is cost cutting to them. I think the only compromise is to limit tickets to 2-3 per fighter, but that's just me. What do I know?
Sure, but at some point, cost cutting has diminishing returns or even negative effects. There's a reason companies try to offer extra PTO, for example, instead of the bare minimums
Or people who actually buy tickets to support said fighters, you know supporting the same fighters you so care about but don't do anything than cry about online?
Not sure why you're offended by my comment. Influencers=marketing. I doubt the UFC cares about selling a couple dozen more tickets per event, it's more getting people in those seats who might spread the gospel. I don't think the extra marketing is worth it, but there's some logic behind it.

Also increased gate does nothing for fighter compensation. Literally zilch lol.

Says who? You? Buddy you're the same Dana/UFC hater who congratulations people because they purchase a PPV or apparel or go to events because they fighters are only seeing 1-2 dollars of it according you. But yes, you're better then than them because your sitting behind your keyboard constantly bitching fighter pay.

I have no idea what you're trying to communicate here. Watch what you want, as long as it's fairly legal. I don't care. I have no idea what "congratulations people" means in that context, you're welcome to try again or not. You do you.

I'm just giving my opinion that giving fighters a couple comped tickets is a very cheap way for the UFC to endear itself to fighters. Similar to how Disney park employees get paid shit but put up with it partly because they get to sign in friends to Disney. Or any number of similar entertainment jobs that offer fringe benefits. Take it or leave, it's a karate forum.

They hand out tickets to promote Power Slap like its going out of style. To not comp 4 tickets for fighter is a very selfish move though. On and average 12 fight card thats 96 tickets. Calculated at average ticket price of $200. 40 Events a year. Thats 768 K. Pure corporate greed. You know what covers that one 5 dollar jack up on one PPV event. But according to Dana “The Milkman” White thats all ESPN. Raising PPV price $5 last two years. Greed on all ends. Just like fighter pay.

Your comment was a dig at Dana because of his connection to those Nelk boy clowns. Come on man, it isn't hard to read what your'ee trying convey even though it's just a opinion.

"Gotta make room influencers I guess."

You could have used "gotta make room for the investors, owners, managers, etc." but you chose "influencers." It's clear you dislike UFC, you congratulated me in condescending post because I said I've done my fair share to support fighters, you said it's only a few dollars that's going to the fighters. Something is better than nothing compared to you who flock to these "UFC hate threads." because talking about it is better than actually doing something about it.

War Tim Elliott for telling it like it is.

Man, the UFC is getting more and more bush league by the moment.
The more they make the cheaper they get?
I know Bellator pays bad on the bottom of a card but IF they had the $ I bet Scott Coker would take care of his fighters better than the UFC.

The UFC is the only sport I can think of where more people are fans of the owners than they are the athleats.
In other sports, fans are more fans of teams than players. Look how’s the Steeler fans turned on Bell or Brown. I’m sure there are countless examples but can’t think of them. It’s different but kind of the same in regards to them being a fan of the brand over the athlete rostered.

It wasn't. Influencers predate the Nelk boys, even the WME era. It's not like all those celebrities going to Spike TV era cards were paying for their tickets and not trading their profile for a fun night. Influencer is a new term for a pretty damn old job.
You could have used "gotta make room for the investors, owners, managers, etc." but you chose "influencers."
They aren't making room for managers and to call someone like Megan Fox an investor or manager when folks are just a token celebrity investor or related to a WME client is laughable. You're reading way too much into this.

It seems he's fought at Apex twice since covid (2021, 2020).

So if we believe him, he must have gotten tickets to those events. But not this one.

So I would suggest something changed. Maybe they've just limited seating in the last few years.

There were no Apex tickets during those years. They were not allowed to have an audience then due to COVID restrictions. It was just last year they started selling tickets, so obviously the entire Apex thing was a new, major change, but the fighter ticket policy hasn't changed.

The UFC gives free tickets to celebrities on the first row. All these rich attention seekers get free tickets.
Fighters who just fought on a card can’t even watch the other fights on the same card in the arena. o_O

I assume this is all some bad communication because of the apex. They are probably tighter with tickets and everything needs to be prebooked and he was unaware. The Apex is just not really a venue meant for crowds. You can get more people in school gyms.

I don't think the UFC wouldn't give fighters family free tickets because it is great to have them for the cameras.

So Im curious, how much are the Venum coupons the fighters get these days?

Like 30% off LoL?

They get one free “fight kit” and some coupons right?

You bring your kids to watch you get brutalized it's probably for the best. Make a sound decision before you demand handouts.
