I understand why the UFC had to do what they did by pulling Conor from 200, but Conor also has a very good point. World Tours are senseless. This isn't 1975. We have INTERNET now. 1 press conference is enough to spread the news in every country on the planet.

Mcgregor-Diaz 1 they did their first presser only 10 days from the fight. TEN DAYS before the fight. And it was the 2nd highest selling mma ppv of all-time. Why? because that presser spread like wild fire on the internet. They didn't need to visit 10 cities around the world to sell it.

UFC needs to stop taking archaec ideas from 1970's boxing and start thinking progressively. Redundant world tours should be scrapped.

Yeah poor Conor he can retire with his million. Hopefully he kept a bit for retirement.

World tour was actually very entertaining. Conor's just crumbling under the light.

Everyone was going to do it. His opponent was going to do it. It's part of the reason why he's getting paid in the damn first place. It's a walk to the 25 minutes in the cage. Boxing has 24/7's, HBO sitdowns and press conferences alike.

This was nothing new to him. He just lost his head. He didn't think he could do it and fight the man that just beat his ass.

Yea Im sick of fight promoters trying to promote fights

World tours are a great buildup for the "occasional" fight cancelling injury.

So... You actually believe this shit? lol

I can't get interested in a fight unless I've seen the fighters face off a minimum of 17 times.

Conor created more buzz with one tweet than this press conference will.

They sold McGregor vs Diaz 1 entirely on that first press conference. Give people fights they want to see, and guys who will speak up at a press conference, and it doesn't matter where they are.

fuck a press conference.

nick diaz said it best:
"All I know is that I'm ready to fight," Diaz said from his car. "I'm sorry I didn't make it to the beauty pageant, but I've never not showed up to a fight. I've never backed out of a fight in my life. That's not what I do."

World Tours are senseless? Thousands of promotional business people in thousands of different businesses would disagree with that. Why have major promotions at all then? And by the way, your Mcgregor/Diaz example is anecdotal. One could easily argue that it would have generated larger revenue had it been promoted longer. I'm sure your redundancy of world tours theory won't go over well with people living outside of the United States. I wonder if you'd have the same view if the UFC were based in a European country. Your 'we now have the internet, so scrap world tours' maxim is ill-conceived at best. Mcgregor isn't going to show up. He's reneged on a deal, that
doesn't mean we throw out the concept of tours abroad.

Totally agree. These guys are fighters not presidential candidates. They don't have a team of people coming up with shit to talk about. I dont need to hear them say the same shit over and over again. One time. Hype the fight, talk shit about hand puppets, kids jiu jitsu, touch butt, and not giving a fuck. I will watch thay shit over and over and quote it on Sherdog all day long. Now we are pumped up to see them the next time which should be at weigh ins.
Does anyone quote anything from the CNN money interview they did. No cause it was boring.

I hardly ever watch pre fight press conferences anymore.
