UFC Nashville: Cory Sandhagen vs. Robert Font, August 5

That was such a weird fight. Billy Q who's been a cardio machine in basically every other fight that's gone deep...weirdly just looked exhausted by mid round 2 in that fight with Tucker. I don't know if that was a complete one-off or what.

Billy **should** be able to drown Damon with pace and volume and imo is a good enough counter wrestler to keep it standing. But...just like you I'm gunshy. Have to think about it more.
yeah he only grounded him in rnd 3 , Gavin smashed his body with body kicks that took the air out the tire. the big difference there between Damon and Tucker. I do think now Billy should get the finish in under 2.5

He beat two UFC vets and bunch of other guys with winning records. idk about padded record.

Nah he won a split against a 39 years old Zach Makovsky and won a decision against a 38 years old Chris Kelades who was a bum in the ufc.

He looked quite good though against makovsky. There might be a little value on Osbourne but I am not too sure. Asu has the wrestling advantage for sure. Osborne is also quite chinny. I do kind of like him though at +145. Will do some more research

What makes you confident in Jacoby?
Jacoby will destroy him with in n out movements and frequency of strikes. Nzechukwu uses a double deck which is fatal in MMA due to lack of defense, Jacoby will destroy him with straight punches, he also has more complete striking, throws a lot more kicks.

Yeah I am going for Osbourne. This fight is a 50/50 at worst. Asu is very unproven and has beaten a bunch of nobodies and a 39- yr old Makovsky. Osbourne should be better on the feet. I would cap Osbourne as a slight favourite.

Kennedy is a flake cause even Devin Clark wobbled him. and Jacoby can too. but Jacoby isn’t as ruthless with kicks anymore. He’s become a kick boxer who only boxes. He’s got less tools in the box. Kennedy can Strike decent and wrestle . he has wide reach and height. not a strong lean either side but i would lean slightly on Kennedy 55/45 for just being more well rounded and big. Jacoby always has razor thin fights. Cant trust he’ll go and put on a A+ performance.

Am I crazy for thinking Carlston is a good dog against Wells? He looked a bit underwhelming in his last one, but he's still done pretty well for himself in the past couple of years aside from that loss to Shavkat. Feel like he could rock Wells with a counter and take over from there.

In vain as such a reach when working from a double deck, he simply does not know how to use his proportions. Both of them do not possess offensive wrestling, Nzechukwu showed a little something against Roberson, who has a non-existent TDD.

I really haven't seen a lot of good offensive wrestling from Kennedy at all. He took down Roberson a bunch of times but otherwise hasn't hit a single TD in the UFC. He is good at dealing damage and hunting subs once on the mat now, so if he gets Jacoby down I think he'll have success. But I don't see that as likely. I think we see a close kickboxing match.

I'm gonna look at split decision props and goes distance props for this one I think.

I think so as well. He’s very good from the front headlock and has strong hips. I do favor Wells very slightly, though.

It only takes one fight for me to know a guy can wrestle or not. He fought Ion and clark last who are wrestlers by trade. He’s definitely got wrestling in his tool box, enough to pose a threat and ctrl Jacoby. id say most of the reason we never see Kennedy wrestle is due to style matchup. but he does have decent double against the cage and has the strength to pressure Jacoby and secure ctrl time.

Nzechukwu was overpowered by average wrestlers. I did not see any compactness and wrestling potential in Nzechukwu. While Jacoby showed simple TDD and very easily defends basic level changing takedowns.

???

But it was really just defensive wrestling in those fights (Ion and Clark). His entries are kinda sloppy, he doesn't have great technique.

Jacoby has shown solid TDD too. I think banking on Kennedy just wrestling Jacoby to a win is flawed thinking.

I’d be pretty surprised if he hit tds on jacoby

That’s not what i’m saying. its a tool in his box he can use. Wrestling isn’t just takedowns , its clinch work, cagestalling. He submitted Clark to which is all a part of grappling. I don’t know why you guys dont get it. im not saying he is Khabib. but it’s there if he wants to keep Jacoby guessing. Even if he fails, its going to force Jacoby to defend and drop his hands. Kennedy doesn’t have to worry about Jacoby td at all. Its right or left hand.
