UFC middleweight Eryk Anders shares graphic photo after chainsawing foot

Rules for chainsaws, don't saw towards yourself and don't be directly behind the blade. It takes one tough knot and that saw comes right back in your face.
Giving this solid safety advice some more airtime. Alpha move sir. Or as the younglings say, "Sigma Move Tittyboy"

I Have a bunch of chainsaws. My favorite is my Stihl 291. That said, i had an electric corded kick back at my shin, with pants on, i didnt think anything of it since it didnt break the skin, but somehow it got infected and i had to have it scraped by my family doctor.

That’s how my grandpa taught me. You always stand more to the side of the saw instead of directly behind it. It’s only going to kick straight up or straight down so just don’t be on it’s axis

That's not so bad, I came from 2 generations of loggers and used to work for my fathers logging company during the summer when I was in high school. I've seen much worse. They do make some ugly wounds though. A good pair of chaps and boots can really save you from alot accidents like this.
I would call that lucky as well for a chainsaw accident and leads me to think he probably did have a good pair of boots on. Saw would have eat through a pair of Nikes and be half into his foot before he even knew what happened if he didn’t

It's not the knots to worry about, it's binding your blade and metals in the tree(fences and nails). I put a couple hundred hours cutting every year and never have had a saw come back because of a knot

Damn, looks nasty. You gotta be ultra careful with any tool like that

Thats a scratch at best. Drama queens.

Knots can absolutely cause a kickback. The material that it hits doesn't particularly matter, its where you make contact with the saw that usually causes the kick.

That’s not as bad as it thought it was going to be when I read the title. Glad he’s still in one piece
