The biggest story coming from Helwani's testimony in regards to his years of covering UFC is the bit where he hinted that UFC actually applied force/physical coercion to silence or put him into submission. We all remember what happened to Pride, right? Pride kicked the bucket due to its war with media - and some of the fighters. There was also use of physical coercion - and when that story broke, Pride was done.

UFC is treading on a VERY thin ice right now. I for one, wish that Ariel told the whole story - there appears that there is a good chance that UFC management may be criminally liable for its treatment of some members of the media.

This is America, big corporations always win.

Here we go...again.

Pride was done after they lost their TV deal.

PRIDE was done because of connections to organized crime, sponsors wanted nothing to do with that.
The UFC will never be prosecuted, they own MMA and the reporters know that and walk the line.
Even Sherdog had to watch its step after pissing off Dana White and co.

Yes, I'm guessing you don't know why the TV deal was pulled.

Now Fox... if Fox news is anything to go by, is one of the shadiest news networks out there, but even they might have to pull a deal if UFC management's links to organized crime and coercion of media members/fighters comes to light.

Ughh. Of course I do. Japan and the U.S. are not the same when it comes to this stuff.

These situations are not similar.

Would love to see the UFC fold so Helwani can cover Bellator instead.

We don't need the UFC right ita just some evil corrupt thug-run organization, we don't need that shit in today's civilized world.

The other thing to note is that the UFC can survive without a TV deal. It has the finances to do so, and it did for a long time before it ever got a TV deal.

You skate on ice and you tread water TS. You meant to say that they are skating on thin ice.

They got way more attention then they expected, the Helwani story was bigger then the Brock news, it was even on TMZ and everyone saw the UFC as thugs.

Even the UFC fighters were turning on the UFC with them granting Helwani interviews

This is where the UFC knew they were outnumbered and in trouble and had to get it out of the limelight before they tanked.

A good chance based on what, exactly????

This. This is just a he-said-she-said situation. Helwani's word against the UFC.

If Helwani had a video of him being up that's a different matter. Right now is just hearsay. And frankly all of you are drinking Helwani's Kool Aid. His allegations and that sob story of his are highly suspect. I know a media circus when I see it. He played it perfectly.

At the end of the day the UFC did nothing unethical. Press pass is a privilege given by the UFC. You might not think it is fair but it is not unethical. It does not prevent you from covering the sport. We also do not know the history and all the details. I like Ariel but I have a hard time thinking that he was completely innocent. You can see he was extremely combative against the UFC especially after he was fired.

To me this is a battle of egos. The UFC has an extremely big ego and hates the fact that they can not control the way they dish out their announcement. Ariel, on the other hand, is bitter that he was fired and was trying to do everything in his power to piss off the company while benefiting from the newly acquired attention.

The UFC is pretty evil and we're all accomplices by watching their shows.

Well the UFC should move their offices from the Northpole to America where the ground is hard and made of rocks.

The truth is Ariels days are numbered. Things can never be the same.

Usually what thugs do in this situation is slowly try and muscle you out as to draw less attention
