UFC main events for next two months

There are decent fights sprinkled in here and there but the UFC really needs to cut its schedule by like 30%. Some of the cards are abysmal. There are some horrific fighters on the roster because they just need to fill spots.

It seems like their new model is spam 80% chit cards and do a handful of mega stacked cards per year

It’s so easy to fix, keep the schedule the same, but have only 9 fights per card problem solved

This is when i actually hope for injuries or failed tests to help shake shit up.

I know sometimes these small cards may end up being really good. But alot of them are just meh. Have less fight nights and stack ppv cards with names.

The fights might be good, they might not be good - it's like that with every card, even with the big names. The difference is there is a sense of importance or tension for big fights because we care about the fighters and the outcome of the fights. It's not like they are even making good match-ups in terms of styles/rankings/momentum, it's just whomever's contract they need to fulfill random obligations towards.

With the new "just some fights" era they've turned fighting into a content mill where they are just trying to fulfill contractual obligations to get their guaranteed money; they don't actually need to regulate the quality of the product so long as the revenue streams are there.

It's like they are a drug-dealer that monopolized the market then consistently cut their shit since the addicts don't have another means for their fix. Except even drug-dealers wouldn't stoop so low to cut their product this much and perpetually increase the price lol.

Hmm interesting what the new deal is after the current one with ESPN expires. There is a real lack of stars and a kind of staleness to the current product. The biggest ppv's this year all belong to boxing maybe for the exception of Conor.

A few are good, Rozenstruik vs Almeida, Vettori vs Cannonier, Emmet vs. Topuria, and volk vs rodriguez

but thats less than half

Even if they only cut the crappiest 10% it would go a long way, using those mains and co mains to bolster the other low end cards.

Nobody watches the shittiest of the shit anyway, do they?

Yikes, who would pay for that stuff outside of volk vs yair and emmett vs topuriia

I'm impressed Rodriguez made it back to title contention.

He was super hyped when Frankie Edgar gave him the beating of his life. Most fighters don't recover after a beating like that.

Nunes vs Aldana could be exciting.
War, Aldana!

In before mods come here saying "if you dont like it, dont watch it", or "dont you dare criticize the matchmaking".

The UFC had picked up a good schedule in March and April, but it was mainly riding the rematches at WW and MW. Now that it's settled, it's back to being pretty terrible
