Unfortunately this is true. TKO is running this company into the ground.UFC is just a front for laundering private equity money
Honestly back in the day I would defend Soccer and acknowledge how much smarter the rest of the world was for liking it but now with the way these guys act like they are hurt to try and draw a foul I say FUCK that sport. FUCK Soccer and FUCK Basketball, they ruined it themselves because someone thought they were being clever and started coaching these assholes to do that shit.Ufc bigger than soccer*
*In the USA only
Unfortunately this is true. TKO is running this company into the ground.
UFC sucksIt must suck now if I can't get myself hyped enough to even bother streaming their lousey fights lately. I didn't even check in to the pbp thread, thats how much I cared about last night's bs card
I was replying to the post saying mma is doing great internationally. Fighters wise we are in an mma historical all time low. Ive been watching for almost 20 yrs, ive never witnessed less enthusiasm and sh**ier fights than now. We have cards now with Erin Blanchfield vs Maycee Barber as our « best fight of the night ». I can barely watch now without turning it off. There’s not even 1 amazing fighter to watch. All the best are almost 40 and the newcomers have the skill of rotten potatoes. So yeah, mma is completely dead…Ok and?
So just because no one is as big as Conor in his prime = the UFC is dying? LMAO... Jones wasn't even a mainstream star even in his prime lol. He's a bigger star now but I wouldn't say he's on Conor's level.
The only true superstars that went mainstream were Conor, Rhonda and Brock.. The UFC survived and thrived before and after them LOL. Just because there's no one like them currently doesn't mean the sports dead.
no for real this time. Every post on twitter is filled with Jon Jones spam. I don't think more than 100 people watched TUF 33 last night. Dana is in complete gambling distress. The next few PPVs look like they were put together by BJ Penn's mom. What the hell is going on?
UFC is dead in Brasil. Only super hard cores know what the fuck Fighting Nerdz are lol. Literally none of my friends have a slight idea.Lol stop, its never been bigger in some places internationally. Ilia is a star and is bringing in a new market of fans from Spain. Its never been bigger in Australia and New Zealand with guys like Volk, JDM and still even Izzy. Brazil is still producing some killers( Fighting Nerds ). Paddy looks to be legit and is a crowd favorite from the UK. DDP is from south Africa. Khamzat has a cult following and has star potential.
So stop with this " UFC is dying " shit you keep talking about..
Maybe for Americans because there's no real elite talent thats easy to cheer for and maybe in Canada because since GSP left there has been nobody to carry the torch.
But internationally?? Yeah its bigger than ever.
lets be honest fedor is boring by amercan standards but he fights with passion so just because some of ufc fighters are not boring in press conferences but boring to watch that is ufc problem for marketing them like JJ nd othersThere is no question that there's a slump going on right now.
Reasons:
-Too many boring, uninteresting fighters near the top
(Need to match boring fighters against each other early to ensure fewer of them rise to the top WHILE protecting exciting charismatic fighters with favorable matchmaking to ensure that more of them do rise)
-The few interesting fighters around today are much too inactive
(They need to be persuaded to be more active)
-Most cards turn out to be boring overall with 2-3 bright spots
(The matchmakers suck at their job and need to be replaced)
Do you even watch anymore? It's literally geared entirely towards casuals. You think the constant spamming of social media posts from random celebrities during fights is for hardcore fight fans? That hardcore fans want to know what the latest Endeavor actress is saying about who just got a 10-9 round? As if their publicists are not just sending out a fake social media posts in coordination with the UFC?It's not dying, it's just weeding out the casuals.
You are the perfect modern UFC fan. Consume next product. Consume next fight. Consume Apex cards. Consume endless trash PPV cards. Mindlessly consume every event. This is the casual fan brain on display. Just casually watch every single fight without questioning how bad the product is anymore. It's definitely less popular in my opinion than it used to be but I still watch every event.
UFC would never have anybody like that.UFC is already dead. You should be watching real sport like AEW
