im looking at the history of futbol. and it says they began officially getting legally paid in the late 1800s. but its not exactly converting the payment into today's terms, so its difficult to pan out. im gonna ballpark and say they werent making very much, BUT, they were paid fairly (as in they got their fair share/cut)

also makes u think how much players were paid after 25 years since inception of the sanctioned sport in today's financial terms.

we all want athletes to get more money. but i do think its reasonable (to an extent) to want the sport to grow more which is headed by the ufc at the moment. i do see a problem where it seems dana is getting WAY too big of a cut of the pie, but what can we really say about that? the ufc is doing a phenomenal job right now, and if the fighters are getting paid less than what they'd want to make the sport grow as a whole, i might have to swallow that bitter pill.

also, these ufc fighters are making MUCHO dolares... much more than those numbers we all see (like their fight purse) belieeee dat.

There wasn't near the same global telecommunications infrastructure 25 years into Soccer's development as a sport. Why not just compare it to baseball 25 years in...when TV and radio didn't even exist.

UFC should look better in terms of athlete pay; there are far more ways to monetize a sport in 2019.

sheesh, golf has some STUPID money involved. one of the problems that i see is that the ufc is working more on itself than the fighters themselves. for example, the reebok deal was great for the guys coming in and shit for the top guys.. but, at this point, i think its shit for everybody. ufc made out on top with reebok. imagine what guys like conor/jones/khabib could make if they had sponsors. some of em would make more than the fight itself. no joke. thats what happens with a lot of golfers.

i know, there are a ton of factors to consider. a ton. i realize that. i just think its rather strange to criticize a company that has done so much good for the sport. of course there are a lot of improvements to be made, but they have done soooo much for the sport in 25 years, its unreal. lets face it, if it wasnt for their greed, the sport would not have improved as much as it did in such a short amount of time.

yeah, the sponsorship issue sucks.
hopefully UFC will be kind enough to give these guys a pay-rise, now that UFC got all these new lucrative TV deals in China, Europe and the Middle East

So how much of that networth can the UFC actually use to buy new fighters and upgrade the promotion? You do know there is shareholders right? And you do know that alot of their networth is based upon their TV deal, it's not like they have 8 billion dollars to use right here and now, the shareholders are rich, but they aren't paying the fighters much more than Bellator for example, so in that manner that money doesn't really matter to the equation, unless you just wanna express happyness over the fact that the folks at WME is getting richer.
