damn I forgot they DID touch gloves before the fight !

Why didn't Jones take Cormiers back when he got the trip in the first minutes of the fight? Just lay on the side and let him get up.
 
Man, DC landed some bombs on Jones. didn't remember him landing such big shots

I think Jones knew he had him on the feet, grappling created risk given Cormier's reputation going into the fight so Jones took him down but never tried to keep him there. That will be a big difference in the rematch - I see Jones unleashing elbows on Cormier's face and getting the TKO. Cormier is going to get hurt badly.
 
People act like Jon Jones steamrolled Cormier, when in reality, this was one of the two toughest matches Jon had. Let's not act like Cormier has no chance. People who have no chance don't win rounds against Jones.

Honestly I think DC's plan will be to finish within the first 3 rds, he will never out-cardio jones in a 5 round fight.

I think he could knock him out, judging by how wide-eyed jones was for a lot of the fight.
 
I'm one of the few here that thinks Cormier actually won round 3 as well as 2.

For me, this was a 1 point fight.

Jones took shit over in the 4th though.

Heh, I created this thread earlier. Probably on the 2nd or 3rd page.

Anyway, this video is a reminder that the first fight was close. First three rounds were competitive and the last two rounds, neither did much. Jones clearly won but it was a close fight. The many people in this forum who say Jones crushed DC need to see a doctor.

I think DC underestimate Jon a bit. Leading up to this fight, he acted as if it was a sure win if he got inside. Well, Jon is a beast and didn't wilt. DC should know that now and be more focused. I hope he focuses on wrestling and less on proving his worth as a striker like he did against Gus.

I hope for a good fight. I hope the long layoff doesn't affect Jon and I hope DC doesn't fight emotionally. Also hope neither decide to coast during the last two rounds.
 
sometimes i begin to doubt that prime fedor could have beaten jones, then after watching this, fedor beats him at LHW or HW

Cormier didn't win "rounds" - he won a single round in all judges scorecards.

Cormier has a chance, just not at all a good one.

way more competitive then what some of the morons try and portray.
