UFC Fighters you have met

I've met a handful of fighters since I've been to 3 UFC events, UFC 200 in particular was the event I met the most.
I took a road trip with a buddy from the east coast to the west coast with UFC 200 as a particular hot spot we wanted to hit...
I didn't meet the fighters for very long at all but here's a list of notable ones:

Chael Sonnen - buddy and I saw him and ran up to him. We both ended up with pictures with him but while I was trying to get a picture of my buddy w/ Chael he was grilling me at being bad at taking pictures (all in fun) - but I blame the fact that he was walking fast af so I was back pedaling trying to get a clear picture... not easy to take a picture while moving Chael, you fucker.
Overeem - He's fucking massive. I'm 5'11 so slightly above average in height but he was just monstrously big compared to me lmao. I was a little salty at Ubereem because he/the people around him were saying he has to go and doesn't have time. Bro it takes 5 secs to take a picture. He fist bumped me and we went on our way.
Max Holloway - He was at the fan expo so this wasn't a random bump in - he was signing shit for people. I asked him to sign my hat and 2 posters and he gladly obliged. Can't remember much of our exchange but remember he was very kind and humble. Homie blessed me.
Dominick Cruz - Also met at fan expo. Cool, funny dude. I jokingly asked him if he was going to fight Urijah Faber again and he told me "No, hahaha that guys done!".

A couple people I met and befriended got into an elevator with DC and also met Black Beast - jealous I missed those encounters.
My buddy claimed he met the Diaz bros 3 times that weekend (UFC 200) - I take his words with a grain of salt since he's a bit of a fibber.

Dope! Chael would be fun as hell to have a beer with.

I met Rich Franklin at a local Hooters restaurant when he was in town doing promotional work for a local fight league. Super cool guy, said he wanted to meet everyone and sign any autographs, but asked if he could put in an order of wings first because he was starving. That was right after his title defense against David Loiseau. That's what killed me about the Anderson fight, I had recently met Rich and knew what a good guy he was.

Accidentally ran into Tito Ortiz in the infield at Churchill Downs for the Kentucky Oaks, the same time they were airing TUF Ortiz versus Griffin. Was walking down one of the sidewalks, looked ahead and there was an entourage of guys in black suits, and the one in the middle had a head the size of a 5 gallon bucket. Turned out to be Tito Ortiz. As soon as I yelled his name, he stopped shook my hand, and was awesome to talk to.

I attended the first UFC on VS card at the KFC yum center in Louisville, the night of the Diego Sanchez versus Martin Kampmann fight. I was headed to take a piss, and met Sean McCorkle in one of the breezeways. This was right after he had beaten Mark Hunt. Dude was absolutely enormous, but was also willing to stop and shoot the shit, cool as can be.

Most recently about a year ago, I was at a local fight card. I was cage side, along the rail. Looked up and realized that Chris lytle was between me and the cage, calling the fight. Yelled his name, and he gladly turned around and talked to me and my cousin as if he had known us for years. Great representative of the sport!

Met Alistair Overeem in the gym I train where he was doing a seminar. I saw his naked butt in the locker room and I also elbowed him by mistake Can’t prove it but trust me it happened.

Also saw Gokhan Saki and Zubaira Tukhugov.

Ran into Phil Davis and Brandon Vera back at San Diego Comic Con in 2011. They weren't there as part of promoting the UFC or anything, they were just nerding out like me and happy to have been recognized:

Also met Fedor way back when at the short lived Euphoria MFC in 2005. It was reported that he was going to be cornering some Red Devil fighters there so I made it a point to go and see if I could find him. Luckily I did.

I knew his English wasn't great but he understood when I asked if I could get a photo. He actually smiled with I said to him after the photo "Good luck against Nogueira!" (this was after his NC with Big Nog at the Pride HWGP)

Lucky dude! Rich Franklin is my all time favorite.

Hell ya man!

Im gonna be out of service for the next 48 hours but I look forward to looking at this thread Monday morning!

Too many to list. Pretty much anyone that trained at Miltech’s. Most BTT guys (not Arona). Most Blackzillians. A lot of guys trained by Rafael Corderio.

Hermes Franca at the bjj worlds
Mike Whitehead at the NAGA's in Las Vegas
Murillo Bustamante at the Pan Am's

i met anderson and his kids when i was young and working a shitty retail job. no one else knew who he was, but I was in complete awe. he was really nice and put up with my major fanboy moment.
i met machida around the same time because he trained at a strip mall super close to my school.
i met josh barnett at a metal concert before he fought daniel cormier. he was super cool.
i used to go to a gym where tony ferg would give wrestling classes. he was there often & just wanted to be left alone.
i've met edgy brah a bunch of times because his gym is near a taco place I like going to. he's always been awesome.

i met Eugene Robinson many times. i don't know if people know who he is, but he's been involved in MMA for a very long time. he's an amazing human.

funny enough, the biggest MMA asshole I've ever met was Marc Raimondi -- the journalist. he was at a coffee shop on a sunday morning after a huge PPV had happened...I can't remember which one. But he was such a fucking prick.

Renzo in ny,
Shogun and Ninja at seminars
Wanderlei, Cordeiro an Rudimar at cage rage
Minotauro in Salvador at a burger bar
Diego Sanchez in a hummer limo on way to Larry Flint’s

Chris Weidman, Max Holloway, Ken Shamrock, TJ Dillashaw, and Tyrone Woodley, all were pretty nice, Ken/Chris/Max all chatted for a while TJ/Tyrone was at a meet and greet thing so a quick pick and that was really it but they still seemed like good guys tool.

I met Carlos Newton awhile back. Very nice guy.

I know a guy who had a cup of coffee in the UFC. Mark Holst was the first guy from Ottawa to make it. Went 0-2 and got Sassangled.
Getting Sassangled is quite the honor.
My dream as a late teenager was to be choked by a shirtless cody mckenzie

I met Varner at the Mandalay giftshop.

I see there are people with unauthorized height in this topic, mods you know what to do

Met a few but my most memorable one was probably meeting Reem in a restaurant. We ended up having a nice chat about the sport.

Ben Nguyen is from Sioux Falls and I've run into him a few times. Nice guy, but very awkward.

I met GSP in the bathroom at Mandalay Bay in 2007 the day before he fought Matt Hughes. We both went towards the paper towel dispenser after taking a piss, and I said, "After you, Georges." He gave a big smile and thanked me. I said no problem and wished him good luck. When I walked out, I saw him walking quickly somewhere with Firas.

Mike Chandler back in Columbia, MO in early 2013, right after he defended the Bellator Title against Dave Rickels. He was probably the biggest name outside the UFC at that time.

He was a very nice guy.

I've also met a few other people, like Michael Johnson, Paige Van Zant, Thiago Alves, Jeremy Stephens, Chris Holdsworth, James Krause, Tim Elliot, Danny Castillo...

Michael Johnson and Chris Holdsworth were easily the coolest of the bunch, they were real down to earth guys. Thiago Alves and Paige Van Zant were also very friendly. Stephens is exactly like how he comes off on TV lol, but he was cool too.

Tim Elliot and James Krause were dickish though, especially Elliot. Real douchey demeanor.
