I’ve got a childhood friend in Peru who is a sports manager and a mma fan. Thanks to him I got the chance to train with Tony DeSouza, Humberto Bandenay, Claudio Puelles and Enrique Barzola. It was just once but cool nontheless. I also met Valentina thanks to him( didn’t take a pic just said hi).

I met Renzo in NY ( very cool). Trained for a few months af alliance mma( nyc) and Gsp passed by ( refused pics lol). I live very close to Longo’s academy... said hi to Serra once.

Training is expensive as fuck in the us lol. I tried to keep up with it in my 20’s but it was too expensive for me back then. Now I could, but don’t have the time.

Rob Font briefly after his UFC Debut. Congratulated him on his epic knockout and 50k bonus, he said "Thanks a lot bro, means a lot."

Michael Bisping right when he got off The Ultimate Fighter and started his run in the UFC. Exchanged emails, asked him for advice as I had been training and he was my favorite fighter at the time. He responded with a ton of advice and lengthy emails but I ran out of things to ask and didn't want to bug him any further. Was really blunt and direct, but honest and super helpful.

Chuck Liddell (This one wasn't a good experience for me, I was really disappointed as I was a kid and he was a buddy of my coach's, and he just happened to be the guy I looked up to at the time. I won't go into the exact situation but he was the first famous person I had ever met and it was the first and last time I ever felt star-struck. This was also when he was Light-Heavyweight champion, right before he fought Tito the first time.) (Edit: Might've been the 2nd tito fight, I'm not sure but I had a poster with his and Tito's face on it.)

Fabiano Scherner (Was the Jiu Jitsu Coach at a gym I went to.)

Dennis Hallman (Met about a dozen times. Always super mild-mannered and polite.)

Jeff Monson (One of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. Always willing to help people out both with MMA related things and non-MMA related things. Still have his Cell Number in my phone and see him maybe once or twice a year on average.)

Din Thomas (Very briefly in passing.)

Colin Fletcher (One of the nicest guys ever and always gives you loads of his time. Super cool.)

Joanne Calderwood (JoJo!) Sparred with her for a couple of rounds when I was staying in Scotland.

(There's a few more names I've trained with and sparred with over the years. Overall I'd say Jeff is the one I'd recommend anyone take the time to meet and talk with if you get the chance. He's a wealth of knowledge and always willing to help people out or put you in contact with someone who can help.)

I was deployed to Afghanistan a few years ago, and the USO brought a few MMA fighters for meet and greets and to roll with. No huge names: Gilbert Smith, Jon Tuck, Jessamyn Duke, and Shayna Baszler. All of them were really cool and friendly. However, I was kinda pissed when I found out that the USO brought over Diego Sanchez and Joe Lauzon for the next rotation because I was a big fan of both guys.

Met a bunch at weigh-ins 10+ years ago before they attracted thousands of fans.

Corey Hill (RIP) was chill as hell. Super nice and sociable guy. He was hanging out with the fans and chatting.

I saw Mark Coleman in the crowd during one of the weigh-ins. Nobody went up to him. I approached him and we spoke for a few minutes. Very nice guy and humble as hell.

Dominick Cruz was awesome. Great conversationalist and talkative.

Pat Barry is hilarious. Was telling stories like we were all sitting around a campfire. Can't remember what the hell he said but he's legitimately funny.

Jim Miller is a super nice dude, also. Took his time speaking with everyone. Very appreciative and humble.

I've met others (GSP, Nate, Hughes, Ninja Rua, Guida, Gonzaga (barely spoke English), Marcus Davis, some I can't remember), and they've all been pleasant, but nothing stands out about them.

met Clay Guida at a hotel, his parents set it up for me as I was working the front desk and I hooked them up with extra laundry detergent. When I found out they were his parents I told them I was a huge fan, and he popped up at the hotel the day after winning his fight and let me grab a picture with him. Dude is a badass, he talked to me and was like "yeah man I gotta go run a few miles real quick but when I come back we can talk more and grab a pic!" sho nuff he did it. Great guy!

I also met Randy Couture twice, he spoke at my college once, then on a separate occasion he ended up staying at the same hotel I met Clay at and I saw him in the lobby. The hilarious part is that none of my colleagues realized that a former world champion was standing there so once I saw him I shook his hand and chopped it up with him for a bit, seemed like he appreciated it!

definitely, I just edited my post cuz I forgot I've also met Randy Couture. Both guys are super approachable if you ever cross paths with them. Id say just be mild-mannered and they'll probably chat with you for a bit.
 
I've met lots through work. The most memorable was Kevin Randleman. He was attending a wedding there and a buddy of mine (banquet bartender and huge mma fan) asked me to come see him. When I got there him and Randleman were talking mma and the three of us hung there for awhile just talking. It was pretty cool. This was shortly before he passed away. Dude was still built like a tank.
 
I fist bumped Kenflo at a Kings of Leon concert, said hi to Anthony Johnson and wished him luck on his next fight (he was friendly), and ran into both Cyborg's at a store (Cris was very nice). I've seen Luke, Tony, Condit, Royce, Uriah Hall, Dean Lister, Carwin, Karo, Tyson Griffin, and Clay Guida all up close either in Vegas or OC.

I never met a UFC fighter but I met Evander Holyfield. I tapped my knuckles with his and he was cool...very nice like on TV. He had that deep eye set look in his eyes. Like a trance or possessed look. Just gave him that warrior look.

Where I lived, I grew up seeing more than a handful of TV stars so I never really cared. I just see them like anyone one of us but their jobs bring them notice. I never cared about seeing a fighter in person to be honest. If I did though it would be cool for sure. I would pic probably Fedor but how good is his English? Randy would be cool, or GSP...probably one of those 3. Just any humble fighter that reached the top would be cool to ask questions with.
