It only makes sense.
Makes it easier for the UFC to market those fighters, which in return helps the fighter get more fans and bigger pay days.
Like take Khabib for example. Man, nobody likes this guy outside of his hardcore fan base, and his name certainly isn't helping the situation. Fans like fighters that they can relate to, and i'm afraid having a last name like nuunununnumvvhgeige is like huh what to most people.
If his stage name was something like "Kelly Jameson", now that would be bad-ass, and a name most Americans can get behind.
