UFC fighters semi-snubbing Cm Punk

UFC fighters dedicate more than half of their lives and only a small portion of them ever get main card status, while CM Punk comes in with no fighting experience and get handed a silver spoon. Can't blame them for feeling that Punk's UFC spotlight was unearned. It's just like pro wrestling, when Batista first came in and got massive push, a lot of the guys in the locker room weren't too happy about that.

After a performance like this and you still get main card status? Yeah, not a lot of guys are gonna be happy about that

Here's another, likely unpopular take.
CM punk showed up on the MMA scene with a lot of star power. He trained hard showed a lot of respect to the sport. Shined the spotlight on the sport and got paid. No one else could have pulled this off. He did all of this respectfully. He was humble in defeat after trying hard.

I for one appreciate somebody coming over from the WWE circus and showing some respect to MMA. He did that. He had the clout to get paid for it too so good for him. He didn't jump in line for any title fights and he never talked s***.

Yeah, he had an opportunity to enter the game at a higher level than most folks will ever get. He had clout. That clout didn't come by chance though and he deserves some credit for that, even though I will never appreciate pro wrestling.

Whatever your opinion of CM punk is, Phil what's his name seems like a pretty nice guy. This guy got rich in another sport but never disrespected MMA. In fact, he took a full headlong dive into it, tried his ass off, and got s*** on by MMA fans.

I f****** hate pro wrestling actually. But I respect CM punk for having a f****** go at MMA.

I think the reactions are pretty normal for a new comer who hasn't proved anything yet as a MMA fighter. He maybe a huge star in pro wrestling, but certainly that doesn't transcend in the UFC. And it's fight week, so a lot of these fighters are feeling the stress.

Woah woah woah only the Paul brothers are not allowed to make money off combat sports. The big bald goof said so <31>

Its just bitter bum mentality. Its prize fighting and about putting bums in seats. If the audiance would rather watch some noob fight than you then thats on you for being a boring uninteresting fighter.

They should have looked at it the same as with the Paul brothers thing. Big paydays to elevate MMA to higher levels. Pride had pro wrestlers, athletes from other sports, freakshows etc for a reason. It's what 95% of the population want to see.

How many times did Rogan, Fedor and Bruce Lee fight in the UFC?

Rogan zero. But he did get his crap pushed in by 100 year old Mark Coleman when he was just goofying around.

Fedor, zero, but he fought in organizations better than the UFC most of his career.

Bruce Lee, obviously MMA didn't even exist back then.
