UFC Fight Pass Edited Fights

Hey guys,

I've had fight pass for a while now, maybe 8 months.

One thing I've noticed while going back and watching some older fights is that a lot of the fights are edited. And not just the entrances and in between rounds, I'm talking about instances of 5-12 seconds of fights straight up removed from the video, and they seem to try to edit it so it happens smoothly so you don't notice.
A lot of times they seem to edit out what Goldberg or Rogan are saying in response to what is happening.

I'm watching BJ Penn vs Kenny Florian right now and round 2 is heavily edited. They seem to edit out a lot of the time when Kenny clinches BJ against the fence, and makes it seem like he's not held there as long or that the round was less boring. They also clipped out several things that Mike and Joe were saying.

Has anyone else noticed this?

some of the rounds can be for copyright reasons of old sponsors.....in some instances in boring fights its probably easier to just chop 10 seconds than to blurr the sponsors in the frames.

If my video quality is to high for the connection im on it will skip forward. Its annoying. But once i change the vid quality its fine. Dont know if this is what your experiencing or not.

I know about how they change the entrance music due to copyright reasons, but what I'm talking about is completely different from that.

It's wierd too because theres a round clock in the bottom corner so it is very easy to see the footage was edited.

At first I thought it was just my internet lagging, but I rewatched the round and single minutes of the round a few times and noticed it always skips the exact same segments. The footage has been cropped out.

And it's not just in small fights, it's in main events and big fights too. At first I thought maybe it was just in a few fights due to some old sponsorship or something and I ignored it, but I've actually seen it in quite a few fights by this time, maybe like 6-8 different fights.

I have absolutely noticed this but I wasn't sure if it was that or video lag. Fight library has also been annoying me, a lot of fights I've tried to look up lately I had to google because they weren't on fight pass.(Lawlor vs Villante, Magny vs Silva, Scoggins vs Ortiz, Anderson vs Van Buren, Anderson vs Maldonado). Sometimes you can find the missing fights if you find the event and play the event and skip to your fight, but often I'll spend a few minutes, find that the event isn't even there and then find the fight within a minute of google searching. I keep on cancelling and renewing hoping it'll get better.

I understand exactly what you're saying and the second half of my comment addressed that.

Or its probably to cut out boring parts of the fights to make them seem more exciting.

Someone else on here reported that they cut out the ref that went to jail for selling weed too.

I understood your comment clearly and the first half of mine addressed that.

My comments were made to indicate my belief that the footage was purposely edited to try to change the appearance of the fight, and not related to sponsors or anything else.

Maybe you missed that?

Is it in single fights? Is it on entire card relpays as well? Im going to watch the same fights on both sides and see if theres a difference

Yup forgot to mention that one. All the fights I want to watch that I have missed I can't fucking find. The search function is shit too, you type in nate diaz and you get every fight by every fighter with nate or diaz in their name coming up.
