Yeah -- he played Jiu Jitsu too much. I've lost grappling matches this way myself -- very easy to let the clock tick away from guard sometimes.

He didn't play anything, Smelesburger is an 11-5 guy, one of the worst in the UFC at 170lbs and has always had very mediocre grappling. Even when he did sweep or get back up vs Wells, which wasn't hard...he had no idea how to create space and they'd just get into another wrestling exchanging. This was like a TUF fight.
